Foot in the Door at Best

Pros

Some of the people there were nice and cared about you. Due to a high turnover rate, it is relatively easy to get a job here. It is a good place to get some experience before moving to a better company. Benefits are good (if you are able to secure a full-time position), pay is decent.

Cons

SWCA is unable to retain its best employees due to poor management and toxic work environment. Managers from the bottom to top of the company have little to no business acumen and are therefor unable to lead effectively. Motivation within the company is nonexistent. Employees doing the same job will often not be paid the same rate. There is little significance or variety in the tasks being completed, there is no developmental feedback, there are no goals set, there is no definition of the roles people play. There is no formal training for any position, so employees will often be asked to complete tasks without being provided the necessary tools to be successful.

Exhausting

Pros

The employee ownership is nice, if you make it long enough to be vested.

Cons

Perhaps running lean isn't the best strategy. But that won't matter if you're in the thick of things. I've never worked for a company that has tried so hard not to appreciate the employees they have on hand who have the knowledge and skills to move a department to the next level. Instead, they keep a "business as usual" attitude and wonder why some employees aren't as engaged as they should be when they are clearly overworked. What's the solution? Bring on new blood then clean house and hope for the best. This is a very short-sighted attitude and is still not getting to the root of the problem: your managers are drowning and your executive staff is hands-off and uninvolved.

Pros

I was treated well at first, but...

Cons

I had the worst experience of my entire career due to the following: - Lack of teamwork - Poor mentorship - Billed many hours over 40 per week without recognition - Treated unfairly, used, and lied to by management - Ineffective HR Department
