      Overwork their employees

      Pros

      The work here is exciting, they get deals with lots of good clients. I have been able to learn a decent amount, and I am able to go over seas to visit family with no penalty due to the flexible schedule

      Cons

      They dont have a lot of money so they hire bootcamp grad who are very inexperienced which results in a lot of turn over. Always very quick to blame the devs when things go wrong. The people there are very cliquey which makes work not that fun, it is very easy to see who is the favourite. Very nepotistic atmosphere.

      I'm very sorry you had such an unpleasant experience at Satel. I understand that working in an environment that feels unwelcoming is not pleasant. Especially if you are new and feel like management places blame disproportionately. However, we do not have a lot of turnover. We do hire recent graduates because, as you said, our environment offers a lot of learning potential. Most of the graduates we have hired have stayed with the company for years. Thank you for taking the time to offer your feedback despite your negative experiences. We still appreciate it.

      Great Company, Awesome Team and Friendly Working Environment

      Pros

      - Great culture and friendly environment. - Interesting and challenging projects. - Developers are able to work on several projects at the same time, and expand their skill sets in various ways. - Great benefit packages. - Founder is very friendly and really cares about his employees, and he always gives the most up-to-date company status to his employees. - Company gathering once in a while which helps establishing team rapport. - Great place for someone who just started their career in technology.

      Cons

      - Team environment is great overall except for the influence of one individual in the upper management. This person has no leadership skills and talks very harshly when you ask "stupid" questions. Managers are supposed help their team grow instead of criticizing the team members for their mistakes and questions they ask. With the real work experience this person had in the tech industry, he could only have had an intermediate title at most, but with the connection he has with the founder, he's able to become a member in the upper management team. Very often, you feel intimidated to ask questions or even come to work. - Messy git repositories. Very hard to find the resources sometimes. - Lack of project ownership (There could be two project managers for one project, not even common for large corporations) - Processes can be improved but it's a very common among small companies.

And you're absolutely right, managers should foster the growth of their team not discourage them. Just as we encourage our developers to grow their coding skills we expect the management team to grow their leadership skills.

      Regular struggles of a growing company. Sometimes things take longer or don't perfected have processes yet.
