Pros

You learn a lot and get the clinical experience for med school plus you make great connections with doctors and nurses.

Cons

You are basically left out to deal with things by yourself since you work with the provider and never see management. They are highly unorganized. Training takes forever and they expect you to study 3-4 hours a night. They pay minimum wage and are not flexible when you need to take days off. They don't care about you and will only make whatever makes the client happy.

Pros

I thought the interviewer and onboarder were very professional and respectful. I was excited to continue with the company and it seemed like there was a lot of opportunities to move up. Their image and false promises are successfully bringing people on board.

Cons

The majority of the 8 hrs of training were timed assignments we were graded on for accuracy (mostly nitpicking things that will differ per specialty and provider preference). Though we were threatened several times with termination if our assignments weren't up to snuff by the end of training, I thought I was safe given the fact I have prior experience and was doing well. I saw others in the class visibly frustrated, left behind when they had difficulty finding things right away, and even crying from the pressure. About a week after the 2 day training ended, I got an email asking me to complete UNPAID homework assignments within a few days or I would be terminated. You have to wait about a week after being hired to start training and then "1-2" weeks after your unpaid homework assignments (if you pass them) to supposedly get tech equipment sent to you and credentials from the provider to start your apprenticeship. I never got to this point because when I asked if the assignments were paid, nobody responded to me except with a termination when it didn't get done by the due date (because who would work for free??). From what I can tell, very desperate people (mothers of disabled kids and immigrants with Medical degrees who can't practice here, for example from my training group) and pre-med students who have never worked a job and don't know any better are being taken advantage of. Anyway you frame it, not worth the minimal wage!
