Great People, Broken Direction

Pros

The pay and benefits are solid. There are a lot of talented, hardworking people here who care about doing the right thing for customers. The mid-level teams are dedicated and supportive, and you can learn a lot if you work closely with them.

Cons

The new C-suite, brought in earlier this year, has created a toxic and unstable culture. Employees across Sera see the same pattern: the C-suite is rude, dismissive, and unwilling to listen. Experienced leaders are brought in but sidelined or pushed out when their ideas don’t align with exactly how the C-suite thinks. Modern business practices and tooling are often dismissed, and rigid top-down control has replaced collaboration and progress. Employees are left feeling unheard, undervalued, and frustrated. It is also clear the C-suite lacks the experience needed to run a SaaS business or a FSM platform, and it shows in the way decisions are made. High turnover isn’t treated as the red flag it should be. The pattern suggests it is tolerated, if not welcomed, when experienced voices leave. The same choices keep driving good people out, morale continues to drop, and customers feel the impact.

Pros

Great people, founder has an amazing story

Cons

I worked at the company for a year. The team is full of smart, dedicated people, but leadership is completely disconnected. Since the new CEO and execs (from private equity) came in, it's been constant layoffs, poor communication, and top-down decisions with no input from the team. They cut half the sales team, changed the commission plan, and now barely anyone earns beyond base. The product has potential but is way behind competitors, and many new clients cancel quickly. I’ve had tough managers before, but I’ve never experienced someone like Heather. She talks about herself constantly, doesn’t listen, and often makes dismissive or ironic comments in front of others. She shows no real care for the team. The people are the only bright spot, but they’re not being supported or valued.

Pros

Paychecks clear. Some of the people you work with are nice.

Cons

Random layoffs of valued team members create fear and distrust of leadership. You never know if this is your day to be randomly laid off without any notice. Company must be doing poorly to keep letting people go. Making rookie mistakes by laying off workers while hiring multiple manager level employees. Can’t wait to get out.
