Pros

They suggest a positive work atmosphere.

Cons

They expect you to work for little pay, continually create new positions for already upper-management that eat into your budget and hours but contribute no actual benefit to your store. The initial atmosphere may suggest positivity but in reality that is meant to lure you into the belief that the job you are entering into is like a family and you will be treated and valued as such. Nothing could be further from the truth. They want to use everything that is bright about you until there is nothing left. They don't care how hard you work or the results you turn out. If you are not one of the 'popular' crowd, vaunted by the Market Directors, then you are nothing. The level of cronyism is so intense that it is impossible to report anything to HR without being blacklisted in the company and eventually forced out.

Pros

The employee's that you work with/ or in simple terms " Doing Time" with. The pay is higher than most others, however after you have done this for awhile, the pay is not worth the work or effort that is EXPECTED! Most people want to do a good job, however after the beat down you start not to care.

Cons

Never know your schedule, and if you cant adapt then we dont need you. Because of what I just said, they now are going to JYVE to replace us. Never know what your walking into when you go to work, every day is a surprise. Just never a good one. You better be in great physical shape. Because this will beat you down! No joke. No communication with upper management, and now area managers have been reduced so even less time to address problems. HR is a COMPLETE TOTAL FAILURE! May God be with you should you ever need them. Best advice would be to never contact them. Wintron Pallets are dangerous when breaking down. They are built by machines because machines are better than humans (Yes we were told this in tour of Wintron) And getting hit on your head or face or shoulders WILL happen to you, just a matter of time. They are built too tall and you do not see objects stacked on top. )Not making this stuff up) Get ready for double duty when your skeleton crew is short 1 person due to sick/vacation/quit/ no show/ etc Store management (MEIJER) hates us. We ARE walked all over by them. The harder you try, the more they talk down to you. Not sure why. Constant new approach for ways to do things, never better just worse, and made a simple job complicated. They love photos! And you better take them perfect! Then somehow the photo will be your boss, and lead to your removal. Time frame to get work done, in "Perfect" situation is doable, however, most days the situation is most difficult to get this accomplished. If you have a rockstar crew, and you are at full power, then you can do this. Most of the time you need people going way above and beyond to achieve this. Claim to be a christian company, then treat you like dirt. Your job may end, at no notice, and you find out through email, not in person. This is not "Christian" at all. Save as much money as you can, because your time may be up when you least expect it. Your Vacation/sick/holiday bank can only go up to 288 hours. Get it to that point so that when you are cut you have at least 6 -7 weeks of pay. Good advise. Cant take personal time off whenever you want anyway, nobody to cover you. Mplans so poorly written, even had Mplans with wrong information in summary. If you contact the Mplan writer, you WILL be treated rudely, unprofessionally and even though you didnt write the Mplan, it is still your fault. Dont ask questions, do not confront, they are right, you are wrong, and all they want to hear is how wonderful everything is. If you want to keep your job, then tell them what they want to hear, not what they need to know. There is no " Work-Life-Balance". Just work, go faster, get it done, injure yourself if you have to. If you dont go home feeling sore, then your not trying hard enough! On the Rate the CEO... I have met and talked with Harold. Nice guy, nice family. But no way is this his vision. If it is, then he fooled many of us. I am giving thumbs down whoever is calling the shots. Harold if you are doing this then shame on you. Time to join a new church would be my suggestion.

Pros

It gave me the knowledge and experience to understand that there are terrible human beings out there that want nothing from you but to watch you suffer while they do nothing and make 5x as much as you.

Cons

Oh lordy where to begin. I will be completely honest with you, unless you are getting a position at or above Business manager it is not worth it. You will work over 50 hours a week easily if you are salary and if you're hourly (enjoy making $9-$10 an hour) you will be expected to work 12-14 hours one day then they'll cut you short on a day that isn't going to be as backbreaking to avoid overtime. The company is constantly undercutting other businesses so you are looked at as a scab by other vendors/Meijer employees. The company will pick up a new account which will take up more time out of your day then say they can't give you a raise of more than a quarter a year. You will be yelled at, and told you are worthless and that so and so is doing much better than you, why can't you be like them? Until you realize they are being told the same thing. You know those 15 minute breaks that are supposed to be mandatory? Hope you enjoy being scrutinized for every one you take. You may read this and think wow, this guy is just sour and burned? I worked for the company over about 2-3 years, out of necessity and false promises of more pay. I left there making $12.25 an hour and I was an assistant manager i.e. senior store rep. However there is a tightly knit group of people that get paid better than that (relatives, significant others). I am coming back 6 months after I have left to write this review, please work for any other vendor company they will pay you and treat you 10x better.
