Great product, terrible culture
Pros
Their website building product is excellent
Cons
Have to agree with some of the other reviews on here about micromanagement. The CCO of this company will be its downfall if he is continuing to behave as he did when I worked there. He was impulsive, rude, insensitive, and quite frankly rather narcissistic. Spent a large portion of the working day bragging loudly about himself. While working at this company I personally experienced and saw others going through being belittled, name-called, humiliated in front of colleagues, gaslit, and pitted against one another for the kicks. He used the constant threat of sacking to keep people terrified of making a wrong move or not hitting unrealistic targets. The goalposts were constantly changing even when it wasn’t necessary. The culture was awful. Gossipy, ‘laddish’ and often misogynistic conversation made up the main culture and anybody who didn’t fit in with this clique was quickly discarded and laughed about behind their back. Young people with little to no life experience tend to be the preferred hires. As soon as an employee has a personal problem, no matter how serious, or how good the employee, this is inconvenient for the company above all else. No empathy for anybody. Any opposing views were considered to be threats. Threats of sacking over opposing opinions did occur. Introverted people were completely unwelcome, if someone was quiet/shy there were described as miserable, or weird. A lack of acceptance for different people with different personalities, it felt at times that they were trying to create a hive mind rather than a diverse workforce. If you didn’t go out drinking and playing darts with them on Fridays you would become an office pariah. All in all, quite a shame as the product and company has so much potential and I would have liked to continue working here but could no longer bear the strain on my mental well-being.
