Great product, terrible culture

Pros

Their website building product is excellent

Cons

Have to agree with some of the other reviews on here about micromanagement. The CCO of this company will be its downfall if he is continuing to behave as he did when I worked there. He was impulsive, rude, insensitive, and quite frankly rather narcissistic. Spent a large portion of the working day bragging loudly about himself. While working at this company I personally experienced and saw others going through being belittled, name-called, humiliated in front of colleagues, gaslit, and pitted against one another for the kicks. He used the constant threat of sacking to keep people terrified of making a wrong move or not hitting unrealistic targets. The goalposts were constantly changing even when it wasn’t necessary. The culture was awful. Gossipy, ‘laddish’ and often misogynistic conversation made up the main culture and anybody who didn’t fit in with this clique was quickly discarded and laughed about behind their back. Young people with little to no life experience tend to be the preferred hires. As soon as an employee has a personal problem, no matter how serious, or how good the employee, this is inconvenient for the company above all else. No empathy for anybody. Any opposing views were considered to be threats. Threats of sacking over opposing opinions did occur. Introverted people were completely unwelcome, if someone was quiet/shy there were described as miserable, or weird. A lack of acceptance for different people with different personalities, it felt at times that they were trying to create a hive mind rather than a diverse workforce. If you didn’t go out drinking and playing darts with them on Fridays you would become an office pariah. All in all, quite a shame as the product and company has so much potential and I would have liked to continue working here but could no longer bear the strain on my mental well-being.

Pros

Great platform/product which has endless potential with Kevin’s development expertise however hindered by Stewarts (director) long list of flaws both as a director and a human.

Cons

- *Stewart* Worked here for 2 years and saw an unusual/ alarmingly high staff turnover. The members of staff who were sacked were scurried into the furthest room in the building, belongings collected and shown out of a side door quietly. The man behind the decisions, Stewart. His aggressive, impulsive and quite simply disgusting behaviour as a director caused mayhem in the office with people worried about their jobs, pay and workload. Pay… it’s great the company hire lots of young people and it created a really good working environment 1/10 of the time when management wasn’t checking every breath you took. Pay reviews and general pay itself is a topic you cannot discuss with management and I believe this is one of the key decisions behind the young team as they will laugh in your face no matter what you have to support your ‘ridiculous requests’ (again this comes down to Stew). Having now left the company it’s become even more apparent that the support or lack of caused me a lot of stress which was supposedly part of the job. I would avoid this company at all costs, they take advantage of young people, offer no support if anything the opposite, progression is non existent and the management will destroy the business from the inside out.

Got to be one of the worst places I've worked

Pros

The people in the team are nice and easy to get along with

Cons

Management are terrible, everyone is totally mistreated. You're completely overworked, the management aren't supportive in the slightest putting unrealistic expectations on everyone, I don't think anyone that works there has a good thing to say about the place. Do not get a job at this place, avoid like the plague.
