    I worked at Silverado full-time

    Pros

Fantastic training, great philosphy, beautiful community, good budget, good staff ratio, great residents, great programming, wonderful food, great networking with local Silverado communities

    Cons

Poor leadership, management and care for residents. Unrealistic expectations, poor communication, regional level confusion-everyone who visits tells you to do things differently-no consistency, no clear direction

    Advice to Management

Invest in people. Hire people of integrity. Pay attention to the details. Rude people do not lead well. You have some very rude people in upper management.

    I worked at Silverado full-time

    Pros

Nice and supportive colleagues, attempts to have a Love > Fear environment, pets and children welcome, good pay and PTO

    Cons

Upper management stuck in their ways and not open or willing to improve processes, need to hire more staff at the home office many departments are short handed. If focusing on expanding, make sure to align manpower to handle the growth or things will fail and quality of work will be lacking. Begin to recognize hard workers not just their VP and above, after all the employees working in the weeds are the ones with the most knowledge on how things run.

Expensive health insurance and out of pocket expenses, no 401K match for employees

    Advice to Management

Be more open to ideas from associate who aren’t in a VP level or above, there are many great talents but you have to listen or you will continue to lose good associates. Many are feeling the pressures of being short staffed, grow the home office like you are growing more locations and things will run more smoothly.

I worked at Silverado full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It focuses on the dementia residents and looks for ways to try to be innovative but lack execution process.

    Cons

I can count in one hand those that truly live the Love> fear philosophy all other are good folks mean well but they can't get motivated enough by those in power who lost their mojo along time ago. Culture audit performed are bias and 360 reviews by independent are water down so that uppermanagement can target those who speak up. VP are cloned like and even some associates who have drank the koolaid seem to robotic like that the true mission is distorted. There training on normalization so that front line staff don't lose the sight that residents are people is weak they havent learned at all from their issues from the past that haunt them.

    Advice to Management

Loren and investors the next years are critical to you all your 47 million growth into the company is remarkable and can truly lead to making Silverado what it was once but reinvested in your people I mean the day to day workers your 24/7 Administrator that are open to change. Kick the fear out and process your Love for those inside your walls. Truly look at those in power in your company ask them to change those cult like behaviors or send them packing and let new talent with great vision come in and restore what once worked with the founders.
