Pros

None. If you are reading this and considering taking an offer from Smartlink, please do yourself a favor and read my experience below. They literally recruited me from a job where I had gainful employment only to find out on the first that they never had the work they said they had.

Cons

This company lied to me from day one. They recruited me from a site acquisition position where I had gainful employment offering me a sizable pay increase, more duties and a better job title. During the interview they explained that they currently had plenty of sites to assign me over the first two weeks of starting there. That was a lie. Over the next two months the most work I ever had at one time was 23 sites (compared to 50-70 at my previous employers) so I was really only given 20 hour of work a week even though I was full time. They kept saying more sites would come and that I was exceeding performance expectations. Not surprisingly, after 4 months of working there I get a call from my direct manager saying that corporate finance has determined that Smartlink is loosing money on my salary wages since they don't have enough work to assign me. Myself and nine other employees in the Southern California market were laid off that day. They literally convinced me to leave my former position and then kicked me out onto the streets of an economic crisis as if I was just another expense line on an accounting spreadsheet. It was cold, calculated and deceitful.

Pros

The "pro's" would be having a job and being able to work from home if you have certain, rare positions within the company. I honestly thought this company would be a great career path, but I was sorely mistaken.

Cons

Very poor management, both within the specific branch and the overall company. No support whatsoever from the executive offices/headquarters. Insultingly terrible salaries. They refuse to promote people. I, along with many others in my branch, were constantly denied raises and annual reviews even though we were handling a majority of the branch's work that was constantly being piled on us. No training. They simply expect you to just hop right into a role, especially entry level roles, with no training but all of the responsibilities. Asking for help or advice? Forget it. Everyone else is too busy, why should they give you 2 mins? While working for a branch that was within a 3 hour drive radius, I saw the CEO and other executives of the company ONCE over the course of two years. A friend of mine was working for another branch of Smartlink. They gave them a 10 hour "heads up" of them closing down the branch and everyone being laid off while knowing about it for weeks ahead of time. Entry level position? Have fun. They push each and every responsibility down hill onto you while claiming that you have a "manager" position just to inflate your ambitions.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. Effective January 1, 2015, we rolled out a new performance management program where employees across the country all receive structured reviews every January, with feedback at every six month mark. We acknowledge that we needed a more efficient performance review process, hence the launch of the new program. In regards to training opportunities, we are actively working to grow our Smartlink University, which offers specialized training for our entire workforce. Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts. - Erin McNeally, COO

Core Values are a joke

Pros

Discounts on Lacrosse gear. Good job for college graduates.

Cons

They recently gave a presentation on their new Core Values and I have yet to see anyone in senior management follow these core values. You are scared to speak up or give your ideas because of the back lash you will receive from management. Team atmosphere is declining.
