Pros

The patient navigator role is a great opportunity to get direct patient and clinical experience. Some of the doctors are very educational and the PN team is a supportive group.

Cons

Upper management is absolutely terrible. The chief medical officer in charge of the covid committee may as well be an anti-masker and is the least culturally sensitive person I have ever encountered. They require nonessential employees to come into the office while not providing quality masks, testing, or a safe breakroom. They mislead team members on pay and compensate far too low for the level of work required in your first year. They regularly make convoluted processes even worse and do not take feedback. Be prepared to be gaslit, micromanaged, and devalued.

Pros

good support from coworkers (because we are all trauma bonding).

Cons

Where do I start :). Wage theft! No over time- this is a huge thing to note, management will adjust your hours. Your leadership accepts this and works late and the expectation is for you to do the same, as you have the same patient load. Unclear training - each week your role has new tasks added that are not clearly defined nor are you adequately trained for the additional tasks which you are audited on. Fear Mongering - rather than incentivizing employees with raises or rewards, they make sure you are aware you are replaceable and undervalued. They will remind you things are "in your contract". Finger Pointing- Rather than focusing on how to nip a problem in the bud, they will shame whoever made a mistake and penalize you for it. In company wide clinical meetings they will call out mistakes people made to remind everyone to try harder. Scope- Navigators are expected to do the work of all other departments in order to "coordinate a cycle".

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are so sorry to hear about your experience as that is not our standard here. Our Patient Navigators are an integral part of the clinic and we are constantly monitoring staffing ratios to ensure reasonable workloads. We can assure you our timecards are monitored for compliance and OT is paid where applicable. Please reach out to our HR Department at HR@springfertility.com if you have any outstanding concerns regarding your time worked. We are again sorry to hear all of this and will be reviewing with our managers to identify areas of the clinical team’s experience that can be improved.

Pros

truly not one pro, and I've thought very long and hard about it.

Cons

man, there is so much wrong with this company. wage theft--all of my coworkers talked openly about this, how management would go in and adjust your time so you wouldn't get paid overtime. this happened countless times to me, too. insane job roles--like having the patient navigators do the work of nurses...without a nursing degree. that's irresponsible and poor practice claiming to be inclusive--misgendering and dead-naming trans patients constantly, yet when brought to management, they gaslight you into thinking it isn't a problem unprofessional management--not only was there no direct supervisor during my time at spring, the practice manager who ended up managing the team was truly a nightmare. she was condescending, manipulative, and very, very inappropriate with staff, at work AND at work events like the holiday party. lies about pay during hiring process--in my interview, I was explained the pay structure and it was definitely appealing. though when I signed the offer, they redacted the structure, making the pay and promotions much worse. had I known, I would not have left my job for spring. unsupportive team--like I said, management was absolutely awful. there was always at least one pn crying because of the job almost daily. management did nothing to support employees being over worked, undervalued, and having to deal with heavy things in their personal life. zero trust--there are not benefits of working in office, especially in Oakland. car break ins and muggings are daily. our break room is only really equipped with a coffee machine. the snacks are locked away in cabinets because they don't trust employees won't pocket them to take home. never have I experienced that kind of distrust.
