Pros

You will probably eventually get paid for the work you perform. I guess getting paid is a pro. They won't pay you legally required overtime and sometimes your paycheck won't have benefits and taxes correctly withheld. But chances are you will get paid something for the work you do.

Cons

I had a negative review that was 100% truthful up for about two years. Recently Glassdoor told me it was deleted after the employer complained (thanks for those assurances that you won't let employers do such a thing Glassdoor!) First off, Springboard Media WAS sued for failing to pay legally required overtime. This suit, in federal court, was later settled. This is a matter of public record. Look it up. Now the fact that they were sued and settled doesn't necessarily mean they accepted liability. But, this still means they WERE sued and felt compelled to settle. Make up your own mind as of the merits of the suit or better yet if you interview ask them about it. This place is horrible. The workload is unreasonable. Expect to put in an average of 50-60 hours a week. The pay is low, probably around the 25th percentile for the job title and geographic area. They will claim you are "exempt" and not entitled to overtime when you are in fact almost all computer technicians are "non-exempt" or legally entitled to overtime. If you complain about this then you are branded a "troublemaker". The office is a cheap Center City rental without functioning HVAC. It is blistering hot in the summer and freezing cold in the winter. Don't even expect a real office chair. They are at a premium. You will probably have to wait until someone leaves and then you can claim their old one. But don't worry turnover is so high that will probably be within your first few weeks. Management is incompetent. No one has any idea how to run an MSP. There will be about 200 tickets pending in the system at any time and instead of making sure staffing is consistent their main motivators are to yell and make you work unpaid overtime until the ticket count goes down. Just stay away from this place. Nothing good will come out of working here.

Pros

Mostly great people to work with. Somewhat room for growth Free snacks. Nice area to get great food.

Cons

For a small-medium size company, they try to run themselves like an enterprise. There is quite a bit of cheating; some people seek advantage at the expense of others. There is little to no standardization within the company. My successes are overlooked, and my downfalls are magnified. Departments that often work together, hardly communicate, which then causes significant issues when working on projects. The company consistently takes on more than it can handle and has personnel who are lacking skills they that a fundamental to their job role. The employer is renown for being a weird person to talk to, and is a pretty decent person, but is misguided by his immediate directors. Some of the job descriptions for the positions advertised for the company are incomplete, vague and misleading. The bottom line is unless you're on the Professional Sales side of the company, Springboard Media isn't a place to consider as a long-term career investment. If you are entry level looking for a start in the field of IT, this place maybe OK for you, but if you are experienced, look else where. In a 2 month span there has be 7-9 people leave the company with and addition 3 threatening to leave.

Awful Managment

Pros

There are some good people that work at Springboard Media. Also it's in a great area of the city which is cool.

Cons

The directors team is so entitled it's seriously a joke. The owner takes vacation every 5 minutes. The other directors just won't come in on days when he's not there, or they work like 12-3. (Seriously, no joke 12-3). Springboard is a company that is full of a bunch of people who are way too underqualified to be in the position they're in. Basically if you snitch to the owner and snuggle up to him you can do whatever you want. There's blatant favoritism in the company but we're supposed to all feel like "equals." Even look at the days for trash- do any of the directors do it? Nope. There's such a big disconnect between the directors and the rest of the company it's honestly a joke. They will personally screw over their best employees if they get wind that employee is leaving. It's like being thrown into the world of Mean Girls.
