Worst company culture + micromanagement

Pros

Nothing, there are no perks.

Cons

Working here was hell. The level of micromanagement from the managers and team leaders in the sales department is enough to ruin your mental well being. They also do not care for the well being of their staff. It is always met with threats of being fired. They run it as if it’s a big bullies club. You are unable to take sick leave as you’ll be questioned. They are sneaky with commission and never get it right. Payroll always has issues. HR is essentially useless and do not even work. They don’t have a presence in the London office. You also get no health insurance, all perks are for management only. They dress it up as a vibrant young office but instead it’s full of mean personalities and arrogance. It is unlikely you’ll get promoted as the managers do not leave room for progression and hoard their positions. They overwork you on days off and even contact you on your holidays about work. Diversity and culture is almost non-existent. And you are expected to prioritise work over anything else in your life including your own children. Avoid working here for own mental well-being!

Pros

Not much to mention here

Cons

The organisation feels unstable, with frequent restructuring and job cuts that create a constant sense of uncertainty even for strong performers. Pay sits on the lower end for the industry, and progression opportunities feel limited. In my experience, decision-making is concentrated in a very small group, which makes it hard for local teams to influence direction. I often witnessed situations where feedback wasn’t taken onboard, and it created a difficult working atmosphere. Flexibility exists on paper, but the rules around remote days and time off often felt inconsistent and discouraging. Resources are extremely tight, yet expectations remain high, which puts a lot of pressure on teams. Many colleagues in the London office have been exploring other roles because the overall environment feels draining. If you’re interviewing, I’d recommend asking detailed questions about stability, progression, decision-making structures, and support for teams so you can understand whether it aligns with what you’re looking for.

Dear former colleague, Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience at Statista, particularly regarding stability, compensation, decision-making, and the impact of repeated organizational changes, did not meet your expectations. We recognize that frequent restructuring and uncertainty can be extremely challenging and that this can affect trust, motivation, and long-term perspective. Your comments regarding limited local influence, inconsistent flexibility, and high expectations amid tight resources highlight areas where we clearly need to improve transparency, empowerment, and support for our teams. We also take feedback about the perceived lack of responsiveness to concerns very seriously. Open dialogue and the ability to influence change are essential, and your experience shows that we have work to do in this area. Thank you for your openness and honesty. We wish you all the best for your future career. Best regards, Team Talent Acquisition
