Pros

A few very nice people.

Cons

In many years of experience, I have never seen such a place. First, the CEO - this man thinks of himself as a god. Will never show any respect for you, your time and won't bother to remember your name. I hear you - he's the big boss, that's not quite unusual, right? No. He even treats members of the direction poorly. He can ask them to stay much later on any night and disappear without letting anyone know. I've seen CEOs that were extremely inspiring because they believe in their products and care for the company. He is not one of them - he will proudly say it, the only thing that counts for him is money - his money. The other departments: - The IT department is actually nice. The head of the department is one of the few real humains you will meet there. He is nice, effective and real. I would recommend working for him, as he will stand up for his team, listen to them and actually be realistic on what he is asking you. - The legal department: they are overload, but people working there are brilliant. Same goes for their VP. They work crazy hours, but you will get efficient deliverables and answers from them, and you can actually talk and have value added conversations with them. If you are prepared to work a lot, don't hesitate. - Marketing and Communication department: This is were it starts to get... less pleasant. You will find 2 teams there: the ones who LOVE-IT-AND-WOULD-SELL-THEIR-MOM-TO-KEEP-WORKING-THERE-FOREVER and the ones that hate it. You have a 50-50 chance to work with amazing people or extremely cocky-full of themselves people. The challenges can be quite nice. - Finance: One word - run. You will never - worth repeating here -NEVER- find a place where people are so depressed. The turnover rate is crazy, they all look like they did not take vacations since 1976, and their is no team spirit. The CFO is basically a yes-man to the CEO. He will never stand up for his team or for common sense whatsoever. He will throw anyone under the bus if that can make him look slightly better to the CEO. His finance knowledge and decision skills have shown to be quite weak on many occasions, so he relies mostly on his senior director to do most of the work. Absolutely AVOID working in this department.

A workplace for sharks

Business outlook

Pros

- Free food - Free booze - Awesome 5 @ 7 and parties - Private shows - Some amazing coworkers - In a nice area of the city - English & French classes - Yoga classes - Merna

Cons

- Badly organized - Too much work for the amount of employees. There's been a few burnouts recently. - Low salaries - If you never complain, you'll be eaten by sharks. If you complain too much, you'll get fired. Some sharks complain too much and are still there. Unfair. - Drama. Too much drama. Office is internally called Stingray High. For a reason. Lots of drama queens gossiping and creating useless tension. - CEO doesn't give a crap about his employees nor music. Only numbers matter. - Some managers shouldn't be managers - Some employees aren't qualified, though they are related to or friends with the CEO and will never get fired no matter how bad are their work and attitude.
