Pros

- There are some nice and easy-to-work with people in the company (if they haven't left already). - The headquarters has nice amenities such as an on-site gym and a fully equipped kitchen. - Salaries are quite good.

Cons

- There is a strong sense of favoritism within the company, with certain employees receiving preferential treatment due to their good relationships with managers, so if you're good with sucking-up to the right people you may find it easy to progress. - The company has several mediocre mid-level managers and senior staff who seem undeserving of their positions, particularly as some exhibit rudeness towards employees, but again, the first clause might explain what they are still doing there. - There is a lack of genuine investment in career development, leading to stagnation for employees who wish to progress. - The work environment is disorganized, with poor communication between teams and departments. This results in recurring issues that are not addressed or learned from. - Job postings tend to oversale the requirements for open positions. Many of the listed qualifications are not necessary, since no one will actually be using them during the job. - The performance review process is inconsistent and lacks professionalism. Different teams have different procedures, resulting in some employees receiving detailed feedback while others do not. - There is a lack of effort to motivate employees, leading to high turnover rates and it seems that HR is more focused on promoting the company as a great employer rather than investing in the development and well-being of current employees. - Occasionally, communication in Slack chats includes messages in Lithuanian, even when foreign employees are involved, making them feel like outsiders.

Thank you for your feedback! We value your insights and will take it to consideration, but would like to address some of the points raised: - Training and Development: Career growth is a top priority for us. We offer various internal training programs, access to Surfshark University, Udemy, and other online platforms. This year, we've expanded external training through the iDialogue mentorship platform. Our commitment to development involves everyone—HR, team leaders, and employees—working together to support and communicate growth aspirations, providing abundant resources for professional development. We believe in a collective effort towards development, with everyone from HR to team leaders and employees themselves actively participating and communicating their aspirations. Our commitment is to provide resources and support for everyone’s professional development. Performance Reviews: Our performance review process is designed to be fair and consistent for all employees, following predefined procedures. While feedback timing can vary depending on team size, we are continuously working to ensure that all teams receive timely and equitable feedback. - Communication: We strive to maintain clear communication in English, although we acknowledge that occasional messages in other languages may occur. We value your input and are committed to improving our work environment. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. We're pleased to hear you appreciate our people's kindness and our HR team's dedication. We understand that the new office location and the hybrid work model present challenges. With over 400 employees, finding a location that suits everyone is difficult. Our hybrid policy, which includes 3 office days and 2 work-from-home days, aims to balance in-person collaboration with flexibility. To help ease the commute and traffic hours, as well as give flexibility with the hybrid work model, we offer flexible office hours and the option to work from anywhere in the world up to five times a year. We allocate parking spaces based on several criteria, and we know and work on a better solution for everyone, as parking spaces are limited. Now, we cover public transport costs and partly subsidize parking expenses to support the employees. Career growth is a priority for us. Every team lead should provide clear career ladders. Please speak with your manager or HR if you haven't received this. In the first half of 2024 alone, we've had 45 promotions, and we expect more with the mid-year performance reviews. We take workload and burnout seriously. If you're struggling, please reach out to your manager or HR so we can find a solution together. Thank you again for your insights, and we hope that this answer will clarify some of the issues mentioned above.

Pros

The whole product of Surfshark is actually really interesting. I like security tools in general so I believe Surfshark development tasks and features really suits me. Surfshark's always using the newest tools and trying to innovate which is really cool.

Cons

There's not much of the benefits for employees. Of course you get health care package and everything but it's annoying that there's no parking and you have to go to the office 3 times a week and that's mandatory. Office itself is in terrible place of Vilnius and there's nothing good about it. The worst part of this company is that the group makes all of the decisions about salaries, rules, policies and not the Surfshark. You have to understand that you will be working in corporation. If you like that - then this job is for you.

Hello, Thank you for sharing your experience at Surfshark. And we appreciate a positive look at our products and innovative security tools. Regarding employee benefits, we're committed to creating a robust, employee-focused system. We upgrade it annually, offering healthcare packages, additional days off, an annual workation, free learning platforms, and more. There will probably never be a convenient office location for 300 people, depending on where they live, so it would be difficult to meet this expectation. However, the company is working hard on office convenience by allocating parking spaces (to the maximum available extent). If you didn’t get one, message our admins for potential solutions, including coverage for public transport or parking ticket costs. We understand the importance of flexibility. While we operate on a 3-day office schedule, we encourage occasional work-from-home days and offer a "work from anywhere" option with 5 requests per year. We hope this provides a better work-life balance. Decision-making in a large company does take time, and we appreciate your patience. We conduct the “Surfshark Pulse” survey to gather employee feedback, ensuring that your insights shape and improve our decisions. Your feedback is valuable, and we're here to hear and address the concerns you have. We hope the information provided above helps, and we’ll try harder to make Surfshark a better place to work.
