Pros

Small Office, some really good people. Local commute for those in Frederick. I did gain valuable experience but with the pay rates it quickly became a poor place to work.

Cons

Owner lacks vision, lacks proper business strategy. Will disrupt the whole office for a project too small to make a difference. Expenses come months and months late. Any comment or recommendation to SR management is taken as a slight and offensive. Owner takes business far to personally and it shows in all he does.

Super stressful help desk

Pros

I was exposed to a wide variety of systems and software. The other engineers there were all great to work with. I don’t have to work there anymore.

Cons

I can only speak to the Help Desk / Support Engineer role. The job is far too stressful for the salary. They don’t pay overtime, but expect you to work it, even though Help Desk roles definitely don’t qualify for exempt status under the FLSA. Management isn’t what I would call competent. They seem to be good people (mostly), but they seem to want to achieve mutually exclusive goals. They’re understaffed and seem to be unwilling to hire enough staff for the help desk to function well. They lack follow through and have bad processes. The help desk is set up as a single tier – there is no one to simply answer the call and create a ticket. Needless to say, this is a terrible idea, and it was supposed to change – but it didn’t. It’s also worth noting it’s a really small company. Everyone there will know who posted this review, just by context as a result of that, and so I don’t think any current employees would post anything here if they had less than glowing things to say. Just my 2 cents.

Thank you for your insight and we really appreciate having this to help our growth. Many of the items listed above have been worked on for some time now and significant strides have been made in process management, staffing, and more. I'm sorry that you feel that the culture was one that you could not share openly. Management has always had an open door policy and employee input has always been a driving factor in our success including the major steps accomplished during your employment. We wish you all the best in your future career growth.

Thank you for the review. Swift has always prided itself upon its communications and coaching of its employees and I wish that you had experienced a better example of such during your employment. Since its acquisition in November 2018 Swift Systems has undergone some major changes including the benefits package and management structure and I believe this has alleviated many of the concerns listed above. Stress is unfortunately inevitable in a high paced, high demand job and it's not the right fit for everyone. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
