Pros
There are some really great people who work at this company. The support staff is very helpful and seem to genuinely care. The pay is decent and all travel expenses are covered, and they are not overly cheap about it. As long as you keep your mouth shut, don't think about what you're doing, management will leave you alone.
Cons
TPC Training Systems bought out American Trainco a few years ago. The company is now TPC Training. On paper they are one company. In reality they are two companies bickering. There is no human resources. When an HR employee gets hired and points out things that can improve the quality of the work environment, they end up getting removed. As a result the management from the American Trainco side has no accountability and it is reflected in the training the claim to provide. American Trainco sells instructors. There are some instructors that are top notch, clearly experts in their fields. There are others, especially in management who know very little about training. Much of the training provided contains many incorrect/bad techniques and unsafe/obsolete practices. Management does not support collaboration or innovation. They reference nothing in the training materials and many things they claim within the training, are false or supportive of common misconceptions that contribute to ignorance. This company does not care if the training they provide is useful. Like any for-profit training, all they care about is money. They only follow code because they have to, and even then they promote (likely unintentionally out of ignorance) training to get around the code. All of this is because of the ego of management. They think they know everything and they run with a dictatorial attitude. Do it our way or get out! Between both parts of the company, there so much untapped talent. Instead of using the talent, they dictate and slave drive, only allowing the talented to do menial jobs. Good work gets rewarded with more work. If you complain, they'll push the legal boundaries of how much they can make you work.
