Pros

TSNE has some really phenomenal staff that believe deeply in the work of supporting the nonprofit sector.

Cons

Leadership is deeply, deeply dysfunctional, toxic, and incompetent. TSNE is in the midst of incredibly dramatic staff turnover. Leadership is painting the picture that this is due to the fact that the organization is undergoing change--but the reality is that senior leadership has fundamentally failed the organization and they are unwilling to take accountability for the impact of their actions.

Hello! We appreciate you taking the time to write a review and we have forwarded your message to our Board. We acknowledge the amount of turnover in this past year has been challenging for our staff and other constituents at TSNE. People leave for many reasons, and their departures are always a challenging experience for staff. We do agree with you that we are very fortunate to have phenomenal and dedicated staff still working with us.

Pros

TSNE provided a lot of great opportunities for my career and I am thankful for that! The organization attracts top talent and dedicated staff. Flexible work. Well respected among other larger organizations and foundations. Good benefits and dedicated to paying market-level salaries. Professional development opportunities are promoted.

Cons

TSNE has a piecemeal strategy that is not cohesive and every time it’s communicated, it changes. It also appears that leadership positions at TSNE attract a lot of wonderful idealists and thinkers, and not enough realists and doers. This could have changed by now. There are extremely clearer policies and procedures at TSNE, yet because they are not aligned with what’s happening on the ground, they become useless – similar to the fragmented visions you hear at least once in every staff meeting. You don’t have to have a final destination, but you at least have to know what continent your landing on.

Pros

Good pay and benefits for a non profit

Cons

The amount of relief I felt after leaving TSNE was astounding. When talking about my experiences there, I have been told I should seek counsel from employment law attorneys from multiple people. These were all issues around long before COVID, but the fact that so many people have quit in the middle of a pandemic should be extremely telling.

Thank you for talking the time to write a review for TSNE on Glassdoor. I hope you had taken the time to hold an exit interview with a member of the HR team and shared this information with more context. Feedback like this is important for us to hear in order to improve the overall employee experience, especially if there are legal concerns.
