Pros

Great engineering talent and friendly lower level employees. Half day Fridays.

Cons

The place is run like a 1940's Soviet prison.  The psychological waterboarding conducted by upper management to get results out of their employees is not conducive to a healthy work environment.  In the face of adversity and talent walking out the door management has chosen to antagonize employees further instead of actually fixing the issues.  This is none more evident than the fake 5 star posts below.  It's all a farce.  The atmosphere has become like that of a crime syndicate where a bunch of sycophants roam in intermediate management roles afraid to tell executive management the truth for fear of being fired.  The company preaches change yet trying to implement any change at the company is like trying to shift gears in a manual transmission without using the clutch.  There is resistance at every level.  The company keeps stating that we must all endure the hardships of a tough economy together yet that couldn't be further from the truth.  Amidst a round of layoffs executive management decides to get brand new cars whereas lower level employees have to figure out how to put food on their family's table.  All the recent efforts to win back employee faith is a ruse.  The employees know deep down the gestures aren't genuine and are only another failed attempt at windowdressing which the company are experts at.  For any young talent there are a plethora of options out there where the companies will actually treat you with dignity and respect rather than an ungrateful serf like at Telephonics.  This isn't the 1960s anymore.  Employees are educated and should be treated with respect not suspicion and ungratefulness.

Pros

There are no good reasons to work at telephonics. It is a toxic environment and will turn you into a nasty back stabbing person so stay away. The management philosophy is to fire people in a humiliating way not because you did something wrong but because they can't meet their payroll or pay their vendors.

Cons

Many cons to working at telephonics. If you get recently hired you will be the first to be fired because of their first in first out policy. They will make you miserable so you either quit (which they prefer) or you shut down so they can fire you for cause. I have countless examples of good knowledgeable hard working people being fired in a public humiliating way. On layoff day they call your name over the PA system and everyone knows. There are internal gangs that see to it you get in arguments so they can make a case to HR for you to be fired. Stay away from telephonic. Their want ads are completely phony because they want to give the perception they are doing well. And the good people are leaving in droves some out of fear others out of good sense about a bad company.
