Pros

I cannot even say getting paid is a pro by working at Alliant as their salary structure is 30% below market rate.

Cons

As an engineer below is your task list: 1. Assist in presales. 2. Implement assigned projects. 3. Support them. 4. Work with Sales Ops in making the sure Bill of Material is accurate. 5. Work on SoW development. 6. Work about 55 hours a week, that's normal. 7. Work nights and weekends. 8. Work Holidays........ and much more!!! Now, here you don't paid for presales, you don't get paid for working additional nights/weekends or working holidays. If you assisted an account manager and they close the business, only account manager makes money with salesops getting little commission, but engineer does not get paid for it as Alliant says that it is expected from an engineer. You don't get yearly reviews. If you are one of the luck ones to get a review, you'll not get a raised and your manager will come up all sorts of reasons. I am sure anyone who will interview will be told that their compensation package and career development is best in the industry, even better than google. Only way to get a raise in the company is to resign. You are told that you are will be eligible for a promotion or raise, but it is at management discretion to give it to you and they'll come up with some BS and you'll never see a raise. Trust me, you'll make 30% more outside. As an engineer you'll never get trained. I suggest you train yourself... unfortunately there is no one who has your back. Your manager is no power to do anything.... Designation looks good only on a visiting card. Long story short, be extremely cautious before you join Alliant, don't fall for what they say during the interview process. Whatever they tell or promise you will never happen.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We heard from our team that there was an opportunity for Alliant to better support career growth. At the end of 2014, we developed and rolled out our Career Path Program designed to support each team member in developing and advancing a career path tailored to their interests, desires and strengths. We continue to evolve the program based on employee feedback as well as planned enhancements. If you'd like to discuss further, feel free to email us at glassdoor@allianttech.com.

Pros

Management walks around clueless in circles, so if you are smart you can just sit in the corner, keep your mouth shut and collect a less than going market rate salary.

Cons

There is nothing positive to say about TenFour, it speaks for itself. See Alliant Technologies (former name) and read what other employees have to say. Place is a joke.

Pros

I can't think of any

Cons

The worst "Someplace" that I have worked. No credible management, No Courtesy, No Professionalism and No benefit for you to join or stay there unless you are desperate for a job and you can't find any in the market. I doubt any positive feedback was an honest feedback about this "Unnamed Thing." I believe that any positive feedback is pushed and forced by management. If you are respectful and have morals, then this will never be your place. My humble advice, If you are leaving them, Don't give them any notice of courtesy as they will fire you without pay. Just quit on your last day without any notice. HR Management don't know what does it mean by the basic roles of HR Managers are looking for a base kisser and not an honest individual. You will be retaliated against your honesty for an Ego satisfaction. One of the managers thinks himself a Mr.Know it all, and he deserves to be a VP, and he is very ignorant about any basic leadership skills. I am very thankful and glad to leave this "Unnamed Thing" after three weeks of hire. Don't be fooled by their package; It's not even worth the stress or anxiety. I was very glad to accept a significantly lower offer somewhere else because money is not everything. Work from Home privileges is given to some individuals who are liked by Management. This "Unnamed Thing" Is an insult to your resume and your LinkedIn profile. Therefore, I am not even mentioning it :).

I believe your main frustration here is due to the fact that you were not given the position you wanted. During the hiring process, we communicated clearly that you were not qualified for the Technical Architect position and that we hoped you would grow into that role with experience and training. We want to make sure people succeed in their careers. Putting people into roles they are not equipped for does neither the employee nor the company nor the company’s customers any good. We understand that you could not get past this. Sometimes you think you can get over an issue, but you just can’t. If you are not going to be happy, it is better to part ways. It is worth noting that you did quit after 3 weeks. In any company or position, three weeks is hardly any time to get your feet under you to have much to transition. We believe it was in both our best interests to part ways since you were clearly looking for a different position. We wish you well.
