Pros

A growing company that has expanded to 40 sites in the last few years, every day is different and every day challenges you to be the best you can be. Expectations are high, so you always need to bring your A game. Officially a Great Place to Work and a Gold Standard Investor in People ticks the people development box for me and plenty of development is provided from Customer Service Assistant up to General Manager.

Cons

To some, a con would be that it can be a very challenging place to work with high expectations but if you are driven enough and want to succeed, you will relish this and the recognition for success is high. Not much in the way of advancement opportunity when you hit General Manager.

Pros

As a staff member can be a really good job, especially to work around studies or childcare etc. Some half decent benefits eg tenpin treats and medicash. Most of the time quite easy and laid back but difficult to be bored.

Cons

As a manager, avoid at all costs. Expected to do unpaid overtime pretty much every week. Shift patterns are mad and Wear you down very quickly. Impossible to have any form of break on most shifts (which average 11 hours) Head office support is none existent and instead they will jump down your throat every chance they get. Successes are rarley mentioned but every bad result is aired out publically. Senior management don't adhere to their own company values at all and have a self absorbed, sneaky way of doing things. No clear progression plans especially to GM level. Labour model is ridiculous. Training for managers is a joke. Communication is none existent between senior management and sites. Pay stays the same unless you get a promotion so in real terms you earn less every year.

Pros

Good pay for managers, can sometimes have a good laugh on duty, Tenpin treats.

Cons

Managers are contracted a wage, not hours, I regularly do 70hour weeks, You HAVE to opt out of the working hours contract, meaning you will work a late until 2am and be back in at 6. The company has NO respect for its staff, get one complaint from your shift and the area manager picks you apart.
