Pros

Some very good people and some very good technology at the company. Pretty relaxed and the pay was better than average. Pockets of really great teams and people doing amazing work, that were unfortunately saddled with mediocre support and mired in too much politics to get much done

Cons

Dis functional Exec team that was riddled with inexperienced and political individuals who seemed more eager to "win" a personal battle over internal turf than to actually do the right thing for the company. T

Pros

Tightly knit team, good work atmosphere, well connected to the US head office

Cons

Never had a chance due to the mismanagement in the US - company has improved since the CEO changed though.

Leaderless sinking ship

Pros

you get to play games at work

Cons

looooooooonnnnnggggg hours. Most days were 12+ hrs. Poor communication between studios. Poor communication between remote offices and core groups such as BI, Platform, Customer service. Lacking resources to complete work. The former CEO, was hardly ever there. Supposedly he was always working on new business deals which left the company lacking a true captain/leader for years. Games that are falling apart due to politics, lack of resources, lack of leadership, etc. RIFT is the only cash positive property they have. Most other games have been scrapped/shelved till the company is in better shape. As of 8/2013, there are no executives left except for the new CEO, Scott Hartsman. All of the other executives (marketing, operations, platform, bi, etc) were let go or left. Entire core groups have also been let go, such as BI, Platform and the Monetization team, begging the question... how will Trion make money/continue to operate without these groups. Not to mention that if the servers go down or something breaks in the games, it would probably take days or weeks to fix due to the skeleton crews letf. Supposedly, the mass closings/layoffs are due to the huge Defiance flop and that the company is now having trouble securing their finances with their bank. The company is also currently on a hiring freeze, so don't expect to get any call backs any time soon, not to mention that there's only 1 or 2 HR people left. The next 6-12 months will be very telling for Trion Worlds.
