Pros

The benefits were quite good.

Cons

The workload and deadlines keep increasing, even when there aren't enough writers to keep producing the amount of content they want. The workload seems reasonable at first, since you start with 2-3 articles, but eventually you will be forced to write 6 articles in one day. While I was working there, a writer was humiliated for not being able to handle the pressure of reaching the quota. The company claims to value kindness in the workplace, but the writers are overworked and often end up having to do overtime. There's also very little room for career growth in the company.

Dear Writer, First off, sorry to hear that the "benefits" were the best part of your experience here. The "experience" is supposed to be the best part of the experience. For the record, the writing requirement is 4 articles and no one is "forced" to do 6. Admittedly, some writers do produce that much - some achievers will do more. But that is an exception and not a rule. The management assumption is that the additional work is acquired through "buy-in" and not coercion. I'll admit, we're not as close to the ground as we were 4 years ago, but that's why there's an open door policy. Anyone is welcome to the CEO's or GM's office because the only way we'll really hear about things like this is when people tell us. Our culture sort of works that way - we open the door, we expect people to step in. For the sake of accuracy, neither "humiliation" nor "kindness" are in our core values. We care about people's esteem - that's why there are 4 clauses in our policy for it. I feel "kindness" is generally practiced, but what we preach is candor, directness, fairness and results. We do say "no one is too big to apologize" so I'll apologize on our behalf - it shouldn't have happened and it should have been dealt with swiftly. Lastly, thanks for telling us albeit after-the-fact. In the least, the comrades you left behind can benefit from action coming from the feedback you provided.

Good for Fresh Grads but Salary's Not Competitive

Pros

- Great culture, people are extremely welcoming and you'll probably fall in love with how close-knit the whole company is - You get to work with different clients from different industries - You'll learn all the fundamentals of SEO (great for fresh graduates who are planning on becoming marketing strategists or SEO specialists)

Cons

- The salary isn't up to market standards anymore, especially with the workload you're asked to do every single day. - While salary increase programs are in place, you only get a chance after a year of your employment. - You need to learn new skills to actually get a chance at a salary increase. While this isn't a bad thing per se, salary increases should be performance-based instead. While learning new skills is always great, this kinda makes me feel like I'm spending my free time for the company too.
