Pros

Sales colleagues at starter level.

Cons

The MOST toxic environment I’ve ever worked in. Management are the most incompetent people I’ve ever met- terribly ill suited for management roles. No people skills- condescending, passive aggressive, generally just rude and disrespectful. Not to mention will be very abusive of their power. HR in this company are an absolute joke. They’re there to protect management. Solutions are ‘small slap on the wrists’ ending in YOU eventually having to move stores to resolve anything. Even then you will still meet more incompetent and rude management at most the other stores that you are transferred. Promotions and advancing in uniqlo is based off a very silly test which does not take into account their people skills. Hence the terrible choices for management. Not to mention if they don’t like you for whatever reason (you’ve expressed you can’t do overtime or so many evening shifts as they love to give and pressure you into doing) you will not be put forward for promotion over the silliest and untrue reasons. Higher ups in HO pretend to care and ask why turnover rate is so high but then don’t want to hear it’s basically because of the bullying. They turn it back on you anyway they can. Demeaning and terrible place to work, terrible for mental health. Do not work for this company. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Pros

People are nice but it’s not enough!

Cons

- FIRSTLY with what they make you do, you start to wonder £12 is not enough for this insanity!! -you go home veryyyy late Extremely tired no time for family your own life.. and they have the audacity to try make you feel bad if you don’t stay back later then 10pm!!! - this is NOT SUITABLE FOR STUDENTS - NOT SUITABLE FOR YOUNG ADULTS live your life this place will deprive you of that - the higher aboves are horrible to manager so then they become tough on supervisors and sales associates. ITS EXTREMELY TOXIC AND UNHEALTHY! - the staff turnover is very higher people are quitting everyday even the assistant manager while I was there! - they make you do above and beyond your job description and it’s still not enough??? - the hiring process was wayyy to long and they lied telling us we will leave by 9 once we shut at 8 but we leave by 10 if not 11pm!! DONT BOTHER APPLYING HERE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME

Pros

I wish I could give 0 stars, the pay is good but not worth it for the abuse. There are good colleagues and some supervisors but the main management is horrid.

Cons

Abusive workplace, peer pressure/intimidation to do overtime, if you say no they try to scare you or act differently afterwards, formal warnings for the smallest things (like talking) or calling in sick . Favouritism and very unprofessional management team, passive aggressive at best. Play around with peoples shifts/holiday requests (Ignore it most of the time, and they say you are not allowed to contact them or ask in the groupchat. ) by having no balance of opening/closing shifts. No talking during your CLOSING (When there is no one in the store), they want everyone like robots until they want to have a silly conversation with you. They fired everyone after Xmas to reduce staff costs but then there's more pressure on remaining staff and they're stretched to do the work of more than one person (don't forget the 2hours overtime!) Have also fired staff for fake reasons like damaging property (But not included evidence) Shop floor is mismanaged, all managers are elusive and tend to ignore radio calls or refer you to other managers who are apparently responsible but no one communicates this. (But everyone requires you to let them know when you need your break/the bathroom) Strict but without professionalism or real justification to be so strict for a basic retail job. Most of the staff are under 25 so they use this to their advantage in exploiting them. This is not my first job so very easy to see how toxic it is. Also they threaten you with disciplinaries if you find lost/stolen tags but have only 1 security guard at the door. If you care about your health, don't work here.
