Do not work here. Employees are exploited. They only care about profit, not your mental health.
Pros
There are no pros at all.
Cons
It’s a highly technical job and you’re put under a lot of pressure, but this isn’t reflected in the salary. Don’t expect a pay rise unless minimum wage rises, they will do anything to avoid paying you a fair wage that reflects the level of skill and pressure involved with the role. Maybe if they did, employees wouldn’t leave after a few months and they wouldn’t need to dish out incentives to help hire more staff. An incredibly high turnover of staff means the company is severely understaffed and you are expected to do the job of 4 people. They try to get as much work out of you as possible, you’ll end up doing jobs that aren’t supposed to be part of your role; doing the work of those higher up but not getting officially promoted. Some of the hours they make you work are so dehumanising, you feel exploited and disposable. They do not care about how it effects your mental health or the level of stress you’re put under. Express you’re concerns and you will be ignored and they will never change. I sent out an email and informed management that it was causing stress and I wasn’t even dignified with a response. Unique forgets to treat it's employees like human beings. All the good benefits the company used to offer were taken away. They take away your holidays and make you use them up on days you’re not working. The national minimum holiday entitlement is 28 days, however they only give you 20 and make you work bank holidays. You rarely get a bank holiday off, even working on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. They’re so understaffed you never actually get to take all your holidays either. You get hassled at any given time; on evenings at 11pm, on weekends, on holidays. On your days off you’re criticised if you don’t respond quick enough and made to keep your messages on pinging at you all day long. I’m in disbelief that HR have actually written fake reviews on Glassdoor because they are desperate for staff. Unique had a 1 star rating prior to this, so please disregard those clearly made up positive reviews. I now know what it’s like to work for a company that values it’s employees and I advise everyone still at Unique that there are way better options out there. Leaving was the best thing I ever did.
