Pros

Fantastic quality products, lovely customers

Cons

Management are rude, nasty and full of their own self importance. They treat their employee's like they are less than human and do not appreciate their staffs hard work. Unrealistic sales targets and dreadful pay!

Pros

Good for part time job if at college/uni Good as starter job into makeup and if your skills are limited. Opportunities to run your own masterclasses if you come up with good ideas. Really easy going workforce, however so relaxed may aswell be laying down at times

Cons

Creatively quite boring if you are an actual makeup artist. The ‘senior makeup artists’ aren’t actually makeup artists most of the time; and are often out skilled by beauty advisors. Therefore you never feel like you learn anything new in terms of techniques. There isn’t opportunity for artistry time and therefore most people who work here are creating monotonous instagram-ish looks. A bit slow on trend and products.... i.e will promote a product for months before release and by the time of release customers are over it. Quite often customers are aware of new releases before beauty advisors and senior artists are asked to keep new releases a secret however it’s found out via customers anyway If your looking for progression in artistry it is very limited - there is only 1 field position above senior artist and only one person holds that position in a given region. And there is only 1 senior artist per counter/store which means if you want to progress you will be waiting a long while and you cannot progress working part time so... you do the math.

Pros

- Edgy and fun brand - On trend artistry

Cons

- Toxic management - Overworked with promises of promotions then given wrong advice of how to interview so they can put a friend into the role. - No work life balance - No logic to payment structure - I was earning considerably less than someone I was managing. When questioning this I was told I shouldn't know this information therefore I should keep quiet. - Area managers never turn up for reviews sometimes cancelling after the meeting schedule had begun. I had 2 reviews in the many years I was with them. When some managers would arrive they would have shopping bags where they had used their working hours to shop and would even shop whilst I had my time with them, which left me perplexed as I wandered round a store giving advice on fashion when I could've been using my time bettering my business. - No coaching from management, only giving figures with no context or goal. - Management talked about staff in a very unprofessional manner.
