      Chaos flatlining to boredom

      Formerly collaborative culture, interesting product space, talented people, good funding, good sales spin

      Cons

      As a startup, turbulence is to be expected, but Urbint's is pretty legendary. At least 3 full code base rewrites have happened as priorities changed and new leaders came in and did what was familiar to them. One team went through 4 managers in a year. There used to be a good culture of collaboration. These people were forced out or left as the work got less interesting, and were replaced by faceless mercenaries. Engineers are not treated like equal partners, everything is transactional. Cutthroat people are promoted, helpful people leave.

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It’s true that we had to make changes to the product as we found greater product-market fit and built in new capabilities to the software. I understand that that was a lot of work (and came with some turbulence), but what it means is we now have a solution that is leaps and bounds more advanced than anything our customers have ever seen, and that’s all thanks to the incredible work of our engineers and technical staff. As we’ve grown, we’ve been laser-focused on bringing in the best talent in the world, while also retaining the talented folks already here.       Company does not take care of their people, revolving door of bad senior leadership hires

      Pros

      It used to be great, but they keep hiring bad senior leadership that drive away all of the good employees, then get removed.

      Cons

      All the senior leadership churn has made them lose most of their good employees. On top of that, they have changed the way they treat their current employees. Bad communication and employees are treated like disposable assets to be used up and churned. Recent layoffs have confirmed this.

I know that can cause turmoil for employees. However, I am really confident in the leadership team we have today.
