Working at this company was a deeply unpleasant and disturbing experience. Managers seem to have no autonomy and to be micro-managed by the owners. As a result, employees feel exploited, dehumanised and are completely at the mercy of frequent knee jerk reactions to business performance.
Whilst basic pay is good, the commission structure is designed to penalise at every opportunity. For a start, we had to pay for leads. Lead quality is very varied, ranging from well qualified google PPC through to some highly dubious characters selling lists - despite the variable quality, sales agents pay a fixed fee per lead. As well as the lead cost, commission reduces according to KPIs, but normal KPI targets are almost impossible to meet without working long overtime hours. Not only that, but it's structured so if you slip behind on your numbers you'll end up owing the company money. This system perfectly captures the company's prioritisation of money far ahead of people and work-life balance.
The buildings the company has created for itself are very impressive, but reflect more on the priority given to impressing through visible wealth than in any value placed on the comfort and well-being of individual employees. Even the managers seem to migrate out of their glass boxes to communal areas where things are a little more relaxed.
As an employee, my daily experience was unpleasant, unpredictable and stressful. Obsessions govern daily life: obsessions with office tidiness, obsession with controlling where and when we eat (only managers are allowed to eat at their desks apparently, they even have fridges in their offices - we are banned from such luxury), obsession with the length of toilet and smoking breaks, obsession with watching, monitoring and reporting on employees, the list goes on but you get the point.
If you do go for an interview with this company, do your research on how most of the senior people are linked together in an incestuous web of personal relationships. Ask how much holiday you get. Ask about bank holidays (you have to take them from your holiday allowance). Ask how sick leave works (get ill, you're on holiday). Ask how you book a couple of hours for the dentist (you guessed it, you're on holiday). Ask about pensions and other benefits (there aren't any).
Notice how employee reviews are either 5-star obvious plants, or genuine 1-star opinions. If you join, you might make some decent money (almost certainly not as much as they like to tell you), but you will have to put your life on hold and mortgage your soul. I would sum it up as a misogynistic autocracy governed by a short-sighted dysfunctional clique. The French foreign legion probably offers a more comfortable environment and work-life balance.
