Pros

Very nice people at at the analyst, SA, VP, SVP level

Cons

Management is cheap. Talk about how well they pay people but people are over worked and underpaid. Morale is pretty low. Everyone looking for exit opportunities.

Pros

Working at VRC is sometimes tolerable, but often it's pure misery. One good thing is you'll learn from managers about valuation techniques, what questions to ask of companys/deal teams and that's all helpful. what's not so helpful is hours of formatting a ridiculously complex model then having your work "reviewed" by some short, insecure manager, wasting your time even further.

Cons

Shills post company reviews in regular intervals on this site pretending it's a good firm. it's not. it's an average firm. below market pay is almost balanced out by having down time to study for CFA. but after 1 year your down time is pretty much gone while your pay has increased only a few percent.
