Pros

I honestly hate every minute of my time here - looking for a new role. I wish they could bring back Velos but then again the directors simply sold us all out and not one GBP was rewarded.

Cons

OMG they have just asked us all to post positive reviews on glassdoor. Unbelievable ! It's like reading a bad book from Amazon and being forced by the author to call it a work of art. Some of us do have morals.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear about your experience at Velocity since the acquisition. The advice you provided is important to us. Our four core values (Integrity, Reliability, Spirited Collaboration, and Innovation) define who we are as individuals and as colleagues. Collectively, they reflect the type of company that we want Velocity to be, and to that end, guide our workplace actions and attitudes so that each one of us plays their part in delivering our shared future.

Pros

Free coffee from the machine Private healthcare & good pension Good location of office for commuters

Cons

Opportunities for progression within the company taken away at last minute and offered to cheap-labour branch office in India. No path for progression for long serving staff looking to progress. Velocity just hires where it's cheapest and squeezes the very most of work out of employees. From speaking to people, none of the long serving staff are compensated fairly for their work. The salaries are not in line with industry standard. No recognition for outstanding work. More and more work offloaded to the team where people get paid the least in the company (service desk) with no wage rises and laughable annual bonuses. Some members of other more specialist teams worked off their feet and made to stay in the office far far longer than expected in order to manage the workload. Some teams are severely understaffed. More and more people are just going to continue to leave, this company is forcing all of it's talent to jump ship to other companies that treat their staff better. Contractors are hired on exorbitant daily rates in order to cover gaps in skills instead of promoting and training existing staff. HR department combined with internal-IT? Some of the transformations of the company are very laughable.

Pros

Work with a lot of great people who are good at what they do. The Glasgow office is a pleasant work environment. Friendly and approachable staff throughout the company.

Cons

It has become a worse place to work since being taken over by Velocity. Massive increase in needless bureaucracy and assumption that the best practices will always be those currently in use in Minnesota. A "one size fits all" ethos, despite the motivational posters on the wall saying the exact opposite. Salaries nowhere near to keeping up with the increase in the cost of living, despite all the talk of how successful the company is. No training. The senior management claims to be focused on training and development but there is no budget available to pay for it. There seems to a trend for most recruitment for the Glasgow office being focused on remote workers in lower cost global regions instead of based in the office itself. Only finding out that bonuses have been scrapped when it doesn't appear in your payslip. Promises that all staff would go to the annual forum in Florida, which was first postponed and then never mentioned again.

We are sorry to read your comments and do regret that your experience has not been as positive as expected. While it is true that we are standardizing practices around our global offices to ensure consistent outcomes and a universal customer experience, we are truly interested in adopting the best ideas, regardless of which office they come from. Some of these ideas will come from Minneapolis, as well as other office locations. If you have ideas for improvements to practices and processes, please share them with a supervisor or send them in to anyone of our executives. After all, they can not be considered for implementation if they remain unspoken. You make a valid point about the need for more training opportunities and we are working on it. The company has invested a significant number of resources over the last two years to create a more positive, more consistent workplace experience for all our employees, and enhancing the career development program is very high on the priority list.
