I worked at Vestas Wind Systems full-time

    Pros

Really great company to work for. The people are all very motivated to continue to drive the wind industry forwards. Very open to innovation.

    Cons

The company can in some areas still be a bit Danish centric. That isn't a con in itself as I always enjoyed going to Denmark, but that effort is required.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. Bankers will create problems but ultimately, the vision is there and the structure is there.

I worked at Vestas Wind Systems (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Working on really interesting issues, in a company that really wants to do good in the world.

    Cons

Management can stifle careers. Lots of travel.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to get innovation running through the whole organisation, not just the Technology dept.

I worked at Vestas Wind Systems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Ethically a good company, working with renewable energy.

    Cons

Used to care very much about its staff, but the profit motive took over reguloroubds of redundancy. (which I believe are still happening) make it a stressful place to work

    Advice to Management

Take people's mental health more seriously!

    Pros

None. Can only think of cons. Worst company ever.

Treating their people in the most abusive ways

Come down to earth and be less snoppish

I worked at Vestas Wind Systems full-time

    Pros

Fast paced entrepreneurial culture. Exciting industry prospects. Opportunity to get involved in many interesting projects. Great mission.

    Cons

Lack of process driven mindset. So even though people are striving to serve customers they too often do not complete projects properly creating inefficient operations on a continuous basis.

    Advice to Management

Pace change, gel all the business unit mentalities into a distinct 'one Vestas' mentality. Reduce politics, create more structures and processes.

  9. "Good Company"

I worked at Vestas Wind Systems full-time

    Pros

Enjoyed my time at Vestas, learned a lot, friendly people and good engineers, would recommend it as a place to work

    Cons

Poor management meant money was spent frivolously when times were good, leading to significant lay-offs and offices shutting down when the market changed

  10. "Lack of job security"

    Pros

    Great office and nice colleagues.

    Cons

Uncertainty about your role all the time. High risk of being laid off at that time which I believe is no longer an issue
