Pros

Webdam is the best place to be! It’s a fun fast growing start up with the backup of a big public company - Shutterstock, therefore you get the best of both worlds, the buzz of a cool startup and the stability of a public company. What makes Webdam really stand out is the people, everyone is truly amazing and friendly, the Leadership team is great, they are clear in what they want to achieve and they are easy to talk with, the product is the best in market and is in hyper growth and the office environment is fun and collaborative with a laid back atmosphere though everyone works really hard. I feel very lucky to be part of this unique company where everyone works together collaboratively to succeed as a team. Pro summary: -Growth opportunity -Product in hyper growth -Solid product and roadmap -Strong leadership and vision -Creative environment -Many Employee benefits (Free massages, Gym, free lunches, drinks and snacks, medical, pension, PTO, and much more) -Friendly and collaborative colleagues, everyone is eager to help.

Pros

WebDAM is a fun, growing company. They've obviously put a lot of thought into building a really attractive culture. Great benefits, thanks to acquisition by Shutterstock.

Cons

Despite the seemingly laidback culture, the environment can quickly turn stressful, unproductive and unprofessional. I believe this stems directly from the managers' behavior and lack of experience leading a team. Discussions tend to devolve into arguments with personal attacks. Very little respect for others' time and effort on projects, which get consistently derailed by managers with no transparency for supporting staff.

Pros

Was part of Shutterstock and then was not..

Cons

If you are considering a career with Webdam (now Bender), don’t bother and make a mistake. Avoid this company at all costs. Webdam used to be a decent and fun company to work for in 2016 and 2017 but far from it now. Current and former employees know this company is a sinking ship, but that does not stop the conniving management from trying to pull wool over prospective employees. Reading all the fake five star reviews popping up is hilarious - presumably posted by management sycophants. Few people benefitted as a result of the merger (it is easy to figure out, just look at their linkedin profile to see big title changes). Not one of these folks deserved the promotion, while they lied through the teeth to the general workforce about how the merger was going to work out. Post merger, no one had a cohesive go-forward direction and they are still struggling to this day. The merger created redundancy in roles and talented people are leaving. Work culture is in the gutter with no clear strategy, leadership or even clear employee goal setting. Everything is arbitrary and Management does what it pleases. It is just a matter of time before the market for their product evaporates and freeware in the likes of Box and Dropbox eat Webdam (and Bender) for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
