Pros
The World needs to know the truth - that this company is ALREADY SHUT DOWN. It is closed as per the words of the CEO Mr Sharma. Above this, the company did not pay the last 1.5 to 2 months salaries to many of its employees.
The REAL story - The CEO- The co-founder, was perhaps one of the most useless person in this company. He basically copied the product idea from some existing mobile app security companies (probably like appknox) - at least that's what it looks today. But he added no innovation into it. He had no road map for the business either. A copy-cat. Some how, he managed to fool a few investors(some angel and/or VC investors). And then his fun. He burned through the entire investors money in less than a year time. As per Mr CEO's words, "the company had no money left with it."
As per his words, the company started running out of funds since December. But he didn't cared to inform us then. In the meanwhile, he had a very lavish marriage ceremony in January last week. And he returned to work in February first week. Later in March first week, he told us the truth - the bad news.
He allegedly fought with the VCs first. Then he later fought with the land-owners of the office space. Then to make up for some money, he rented out some of the office space to another company. He ended up fighting with them as well, so that those guys had to leave within a few days of shifting in. He fired one of his employees within a day without giving a single day notice period, out of ego clashes. Despite knowing that the company had no money, he hired a new HR in February. All of this could be just my perception about the CEO. However, I got to know that he literally fled from the office - that the guards of the building were asked to make sure that he doesn't leave the building. The way he vacated the office space, the way he handled the entire situation since February; that was a clear proof of how insincere and brainless CEO he was.
Instance 1. He took back the laptops provided to us by the office; told us he would be selling them to collect some money to pay us our due salaries. But then he never paid the salaries, so what should one think of it. The laptops were company's assets, but who knows what happened to them.
Instance 2. There was a Play Station installed in the office for recreational activities, which I suppose was bought from the company's money(essentially investor's money). Few days before he fled from the office space, he took the PS to his apartment; which technically belonged to the company. It may not have been his personal property. So did he sell it to fill company's bank accounts or is it still with him?
The CEO barely came for 6 hours in the office, and seldom did he attended any office meeting. But he expected his employees to maintain a daily 9-hour decorum. He used the company's graphic designer to draw graphics for his wedding cards. He did a lot of chest thumping and self praising - clear signs of an unworthy CEO. If the CEO of the company is watching or downloading a movie or television series in the office hours, what should his employees think of his earnestness to run the company, especially when you've told that the company is out of funds.
There was not even a single remorse or tension over his face announcing to us that the company is shutting down. When asked for the salary, he shifted the blame on VCs, and said that this happens regularly in the industry. He didn't even had the courtesy to provide a written statement over the company's shutting down its operations, or a written promise that he would arrange for the salaries whenever possible in the future. Most of his announcements were verbal and there was no written communication ever. Because all in all, his intentions weren't clear. He didn't had a slight discomfort in telling us that the company has failed and was closing down (as if he had planned for all those events and was prepare to tackle it). He continued with his lavish and ostentatious life despite his employees going through such a rough patch.
You see where all this takes us? Was he a con man? May be, may be not. He tricked us into believing everything what he said, only for us to realize that he may have lied to us a lot, and was covering up some fraud or whatever. On the other hand, he may not have done anything wrong and was honest all the way through, and all of the bad stuff that happened at Wegilant was due to a series of his genuinely bad decisions. But regardless of it, he was a very fickle minded, selfish and immature person. And all his promises were a sheer humbug.
As per the Mr CEO's words, the company got shut down back in 2016, and I wonder why is the website still up? And whose is paying up for the servers?
Finally some pros(since I have to list it here) that were there in Wegilant -
1. There was a work-time flexibility
2. The Internet speed in the office was good
3. There were snacks available in the evening.
Cons
1. CEO was a big time compulsive liar
2. Didn't pay salaries (since March 2016)
3. No vision for the product, led to low sales - thus amounting to not much revenue.
4. Some of the employees were overpaid and some were underpaid.
5. Lack of seriousness to run the company led to the demise of the company. The downfall was inevitable.
