Pros
Mostly awesome coworkers Flexible schedule and remote work Good offsite all hands in Vegas
Cons
I feel that I was conned by leadership into joining this company. They talk a lot about diversity and inclusion and "belonging", but the truth of the matter is that it is badly run by three very "bro-ey" founders and they care very little about actual diversity. A previous review mentioned that engineering is run by a child that lets his baby brother do whatever he wants, and this is not far from the truth. The baby brother has brought down the application multiple times with little consequence but when others make much smaller mistakes his brother the CTO would go on a blame and shame tirade on Slack. The CTO also hired his computer science teacher who seems to be a somewhat unstable person who goes on tirades from time to time that makes others very uncomfortable. They also have an oldest brother who is also one of the founders and is just a very caustic and sexist person all around. In general this company is a cesspool of nepotism, and if you are not in the inner circle then you are basically screwed because whatever non-existent performance standards there are will be applied unevenly to you. The product is a video conferencing/events SaaS platform that received a lot of hype during the pandemic, but now sales are clearly dwindling to dangerously low levels. When you add the inability for the leaders to manage properly you just have a recipe for disaster. Pay is way below average so there is really no good reason to join this sinking ship.
