Pros

Colleagues and admin staff Office building and facilities Location Line Manager - probably the greatest person I've worked with

Cons

-Highly political company being Boston centric -Lack of collaborative effort and more about control even by your counterparts -Telling someone in Boston they are wrong is pretty much a warrant for HR to tell you to behave and follow orders - Your years of service mean more than your competence - Flat structure in a seating plan only - Cliques form very quickly (even managers with selective members of their department) and if you don't fit a cultural criteria you are isolated quite quickly - Very reactive to the market opposed to proactive - Do not listen to the experts they bring in to advice on improvement, they want you to just make a broken system look organised on paper. -If Boston says jump, London says how high.

Pros

There are some brilliant, impressive and talented individuals working there but this is not a place filled with happy, fulfilled people.

Cons

Working at Wellington is like walking into quicksand: if you're happy to stand still then over time you'll survive just by turning up, but the second you try to move forwards, you'll be swallowed into a quagmire of politics and pettiness. Tenure is rewarded over skill or ability meaning toxic individuals get away with persecuting others and favourites excel. Managers are not empowered to make decisions, the power sits with some bigwig in a corner office looking at the bottom line. Don't be fooled into thinking you, your career or development are of any importance. This is evidenced in the sea of leavers, uncompetitive pay and atmosphere of misery. Don't expect your pay to increase with a promotion. Perhaps naive not to have realised this sooner but HR are not there to support you, they are a business function designed to protect the businesses interests, at all times and any cost.

Pros

*Flexibility *US management and EAs are lovely *EA team lovely *Generous bonus *Inspiring CEO and Co Heads *Career progression out of the EA role

Cons

*EA manager questionable - tells respective colleagues that they shouldn’t have been hired, gives misleading feedback, allocations aren’t concise. Focuses on “being the best” but doesn’t focus on having the best working allocation *Some managers singling out colleagues, acting like they aren’t there *Managers can be rude
