Pros

Hard-working and talented staff Flexible hours Interesting projects and clients

Cons

The main problem is a lack of maturity in operations. Client-facing departments are professional and developed, but other areas of the business are under-resourced, leading to dysfunctional management, too-broad job remits, and high employee turnover.

Pros

You are given a lot of freedom to get on with the job and be successful. Windmill is a global company and working with people across the world makes it really exciting and you're always learning. We work with amazing clients and we're building our own products under the Windmill Ventures entity.

Cons

Every company has its cons but at Windmill , the positives outweigh the cons, all good :)

Pros

The ability to move from one role to another, option to change specialization and retrain to another technology stack if you interested. Basically, the company consists of professionals not lower than the level of middle, so there are no problems in setting and completing tasks at projects

Cons

Once I read here at Glassdoor that Windmill is a company of the "one-man show", in fact, nothing has changed since the reading of that review. The company is still in the same mess, every month or two they present a new “star” to the team, who came to fix everything from the height of his 15 years of experience, so far the issue is related to HR dept, Talent acquisition dept, there is no CTO in the company for years. Here are some experienced real examples from the workflow: 1. Management is quite toxic the owner and his minions allow themselves to yell at subordinates and insult in the presence of the team. 2. The owner may appear during a call with a client and without understanding the essence of the process or discussion, may start throwing people out of the call and can even kick the client. 3. In general, communication with the owner is far from calling it pleasure, a person’s mood changes every 15 minutes, at first you can be the “best man” and after few minutes you can start listening to screams that you don’t understand anything about what you are talking about and there are doubts in your qualifications and wise versa. 4. Endless meetings for 3-4 hours to explain to a non-technical manager why this technical solution is suitable, in the end he still doesn’t understand and asks to write a rationale to the client 5. Micromanagement - daily governess calls about nothing, the inspectors themselves do not understand the process, but they really want to control it. 6. Management can independently promise something to customers without consulting technical specialists, respectively, this can cause serious processing and build-up of technical debt 7. The owner can get to github himself to change all the branches at his discretion, and the team then has to restore the structure within two weeks. 8. Access is a separate pain, over the weekend you can get the project you are working on in Jira archived, and on Monday, instead of starting work, you need to spend half a day to restore accesses. 9. Receiving calls and messages outside business hours requesting an urgent response for non-critical issues There is a problem with processes due to constantly changing managers, people who work at the C level - principal for more than one year can be counted on the fingers of one hand.
