nepotism and micromanagement
Pros
most of the staff are great people and nice
Cons
Nepotism and upper management styles make this a very difficult place to work and foster an environment of burnout and frustration. They don't place enough appreciation or respect on the support staff, who are really the ones that allow the company to operate every day. If you are not in the inner circle (i.e. the family) your opinions and ideas will never be heard or taken into serious consideration. They preach work-life balance but it really doesn't apply to the day-to-day office staff which is sad and there is a lot of turnover because of this. I recall the best times are when the owner and family are on vacation because we can be left alone to do our work without harassment or a pile-on of random requests. Moving up in the company is extremely difficult because there is not a lot of trust between upper management and everyone else.
