Pros

- Talented, fun-loving people. You just might make some good friends here because bonding over how poorly you're being treated. - lunch discount - gym membership (which they've cut back on)

Cons

I wouldn't recommend a job here to my worst enemy. You're constantly talked down to, upper-level management doesn't communicate with anyone, it's an unnecessarily large building only causing distance and fear of the top floor for the second floor. They're building a robot to be seen as soon as you walk in, there's a bunch of fancy furniture imported, million dollar marble floors, yet somebody can work here for years and only receive a 1% pay raise. Ton of people are leaving, we are getting pulled aside to submit fake positive reviews on glassdoor.

Pros

Fancy food at weekly Zuddles? Other perks like dinner is you stay late (and CEO personally tracks that you're there)?

Cons

“What a sad state of affairs ” review is pretty much 100% on point. This company was once a bastion of talent and ambition, and many brilliant young grads wanted to come and work here. At it's current state, existing employees are posting on Facebook with a list of 15+ job openings to replace employees from various job departments that quit. The company is run by a megalomaniacal CEO who refuses to acknowledge his inability to lead Zazzle to a brighter future. The top brass at the company are all cronies of the "family" (except VP of Marketing, who was hired from Etsy), and are pretty much unqualified for their jobs and leadership in general. They fail to motivate their employees, and prove to them that they are doing anything meaningful with their lives except working for a cash- and ego-driven elitist family. If you're applying/interviewing there, you should seriously reconsider-- you're much better off taking your talents elsewhere where the CEO is not a complete self-absorbed jerk.

Pros

The poor souls who slave away for a money hungry family called the Beavers. The employees here are extremely nice and personable only when they're not scared to speak during work hours. The office spaces are very modern and nice but don't let that fool you b/c that's the only thing Zazzle has to offer.

Cons

The management team (Beavers) Jason - their side kick (CMO, CFO, hitler) No growth - don't let them lie to you. There's NO growth whatsoever and you can forget about getting raises because there aren't performance reviews or anything to that effect. if you want a raise then you better start beg, lie and steal. Don't believe the positive reviews on here because the CEO has coerced employees to leave fake positive feedback to try to increase their rating on glassdoor. If you're smart, you will make your decisions based on all of the negative reviews on here because we have no reason to lie or waste our time to leave reviews unless its really necessary. No one ever speaks during working hours because their afraid to talk with one another and the CEO sits right in the middle of the room. Every snack, drink or dinner is tracked by the CEO and his minions so if you abuse the policy by drinking multiple drinks a day then expect a conversation with HR.

Zazzle Response

I don’t normally engage in online forum postings/rebuttals, etc., but given that my name was specifically called out in this one, I feel compelled to respond. If there’s a specific action/behavior on my part that has offended you, I apologize. I hope that as a current employee, you will come chat with me in a constructive dialog that allows us to move onward and upward. If you’re not comfortable talking to me directly, you can also chat with your manager or anyone in the HR team. I would like to address a particular call-out here in hopes that people reading will get a more balanced view of the folks who lead Zazzle. The Beavers are all individuals, with unique and differing perspectives. The only common denominator they share that they are smart, *really smart* and want Zazzle to live up to the potential that we all believe it has. Robert (CEO) is a serial entrepreneur (was one before it was “cool” to be an entrepreneur) who has started and sold more successful companies than most other people dare to dream. I have the good fortune of working with him and I can tell you that his passion is motivated by an extreme desire to win for Zazzle which equals a win for everyone at Zazzle. He empowers all of us on a daily basis and pushes us to do better. Zazzle has grown tremendously over the years – and we owe this success to Robert’s leadership and vision. Thanks, Jason
