The company is still finding itself and could blow up

In PR mode. Everything it does is for the public nothing is actually smooth internally. May be bought out within a year. Upper management makes a lot of promises they don't deliver on.There has not been an internal promotion in sales in almost a year.

Little to no onboarding or training at all Left the company still unfamiliar with the product Upper management doesn’t manage Executive team is an old boys club where they’ll tell you that a job isn’t about money while sitting in one of their many vacation homes Very little diversity All of the good leaders and workers are gone As others have pointed out a lot of their good reviews have been incentivized by leadership

In my almost 4 years, I have learned and grown so much. I have never been afforded as much opportunity at any other company as I was at Zenefits. I truly am grateful for my time spent here, the lessons I learned and the people I met.

Cons

Given the above, much has changed over the years; from management to company values, and almost all these changes have been for the worse. When I first started, there was an overwhelming feeling that the work you did mattered, to your clients, and to the growth and success of the company. It felt like we were building something together, and everyone was excited to be a part of it. Zenefits was a place where every employee felt valued and necessary. New ideas were encouraged and the good ones were tried out, regardless of if the idea came from a support associate or a VP. People were recognized and promoted for their hard work and innovation. That's what it used to be... now Zeneifts is a bit of a spiraling mess. Management seems intent on running off any talent left at the company by tasking them with impossible deadlines and ridiculing them publicly. It has become an extremely hostile and toxic workplace where VPs/execs/upper management will regularly call out employees, embarrass, and scold them in meetings or public chat channels. There is a lot of clear favoritism as far as promotions and hiring goes. People are regularly moved in to positions without the proper interview processes taking place, simply because the right people like them. This has resulted in several departments of the company being severely mismanaged to the point of barely functioning. Innovation is encouraged, but pointless. If you have a good idea and it makes it to someone with the resources to implement said idea, they will simply take credit. This is a trend at Zenefits. People will regularly steal someone's idea, or take a previously presented idea and tweak it a bit to present it as their own and gain some clout with the execs. I would not recommend anyone work at Zenefits, nor purchase their software.... Unless some serious changes are made ASAP.

Pros

- Company has a pretty decent work culture for r&d teams - Work at your own time, you own what you do. - At the time, location and perks were good - Interesting and high potential market space

Cons

- Product strategy was all over the place (not sure how is it now) - Jack of all trades, master of none - Lot of unfinished products - Didn't know the direction, the company was headed. Upper management were unclear or weren't too sure themselves

Pros

- Free catered lunch - Snacks/drinks - Laid back dress code (some people take advantage of this) - A lot of good things to learn while being employed here, if you can keep up with the changes.

Cons

- All around disappointed with the way this company is allowed to operate. - Employees are promoted to management with no experience in managing people. - Employees act very unprofessionally, wear yoga pants every day and condone themselves in very negative, disgusting manners. Cursing while others are talking to clients, being inappropriate and when HR is notified, they never look into it. - Favoritism is a huge factor here. If you know the right people, you can have any position you want, regardless if you are a fit for it or even have experience. - The company holds several get-togethers, which would be fun, except they are huge drunk fests and upper management is involved in being messy and the opposite of professional. - Sexual harassment is not taken seriously. Multiple people have complained to HR, yet those people are still employed, due to making excuses and talking their way out of it. - A select few employees get away with doing absolutely nothing and have the mentality of "Fire me, I dare you." This is condoned at Zenefits. - With multiple layoffs, you never know when your time is coming. - Processed change daily. This means you never get to feel confident in your role and speaking to clients. They can't seem to put a process in place and have it work. - Previous employee's who have left, have left pages of feedback with issues they experienced and after they were gone, the word was "who cares what she said about everything she quit." The wrong mentality of HR and upper management. Just sad really. - You are not rewarded for working more hours or putting in more work than others. Only people who are well liked get rewarded based on who in upper management likes them. - If you are looking to make some money for about a year or two and want to learn a lot in a short period of time, it could be for you. If you are looking for a career, this is the last place to look.
