Pros

Salary can be higher than average of they need you urgently which happens often as the people rotation is very high.

Cons

Culture is very poor. Micromanagement is everywhere as there is no clear responsibilities and accountabilities. Recruitment is poor as there are no clear requirements of profiles in need. Management has no criteria to make decisions as top management have a no clear strategy, manners or professionalism. It might work in Russia... They might make you feel that they're going to save the world with that technology, bla bla bla. Once you're in you will notice that it's not true. You'll get demotivated and leave with no much knowledge... Good luck!

Pros

Modern office space, free lunches. Nice employees - mainly.

Cons

Unfortunately like many startups, ZeroAvia may have a good idea and technology, but they lack the knowhow, culture and rigour to ever make it market. Certification is all you'll ever hear at ZeroAvia but senior management actually don't know what certification means, they think it's some certificate they'll get for demonstrating a plane flying around the Cotswolds. There is a severe lack of systems/safety thinking and therefore rigorous engineering culture. And without it, there is zero chance this product ever achieves certification. I've watched on as multiple systems engineers have tried and failed to get the project moving in the right direction with processes, plans and methods only to get shouted at and spoken down to. And after 3 years, I too have had enough. They still advertise systems engineering roles on their website but they don't have the first idea about what the discipline is. In a few years, when the company inevitably implodes, I'll sit and laugh at the LinkedIn posts about what a fantastic company and project it was and how they had "amazing" technology but just fell short due to financial constraints - and I'll have a good chuckle. Because the writing has been on the wall for years to anyone who actually knows what they're doing.

Pros

Multicultural environment with engineers recruited from around the world. Marketing department is definitely the best department in ZeroAvia.

Cons

-Company had very ambitious plans that will not be met on the timelines claimed on the press, especially those regarding certifications. - There is a very high turnover in the last months with a relevant bleed of highly skilled workforce joining competitors with more solid balance sheet and finances. - There have been several people holding senior positions at C-suite level that left the organization after the last capital rise. This is not promising for the near future - Senior and middle management had been responsible of harassment episodes and weird dismissals covered up by private financial settlements and very poor severance packages. Mercurial and incompetent leadership. Some people from the middle management do not have the technical competency and experience to hold and manage workforce under their responsibility. This slow down the roll-out of the overall work within the organization - Flashy statements about powertrain capabilities that do not find the related counterpart in the reality.

Thank you for your feedback. As with any business, employees will leave due to cultural fit, performance issues or to pursue other exciting goals. Our turnover remains below the average for the engineering sector. For clarity, we have no harassment cases. ZeroAvia is proud of its technical advancements and has recently been voted Times No1 Green Tech Company. This is a great endorsement of what we have achieved.
