You can go to their desk anytime and discuss any problem. you learn a lot (especially for a fresher) Now let's talk about the technology. I won't say that they are using very old technology, but yes they are not using highly complex clusters of technology which required a lot of maintenance. And the only reason for this is because they really don't need that. If we talk about the transactions happening on their whole application it would not be less than any mid-size e-commerce company, but they have designed their application such a way that they don't need that highly complex clusters of technology. They have kept that simple. Simple technology and architecture are simple to maintain and believe me you are not gonna be happy if you are waking up 2 in the morning because some random server went down because of the overly complex system you set up for no good reason. They are not using any java framework because they have built their own very decent searching/booking framework which is serving their purpose.
