Pros

I’ve been with Zoomdata for almost two years, and as with any start-up, issues can arise. There’s always going to be growing pains, but on the flip-side, I’ve never worked for a start-up that’s allowed for me to have a true work-life balance, creative freedom and opporunity to learn beyond my skill set (aka not from doing mundane work). Changes in staff and management have brought about a new air to the organization. This has brought about more transparency and very defined goals. Essentially, aligning the organization to better reach the next level. New VP of Sales is kick-ass! Total go-getter, not a talker. If you’re a problem solver, want room to grow and hold yourself accountable to achieving goals, and want to make money, this is the place for you.

Cons

If you’re not prepared for a few bumps in the road or some chaos, this isn’t the place for you. You need to be prepared to let the lows go and focus on achieving the higher objectives. Be a problem solver and you’ll succeed and be able to make a real difference.

Pros

Relaxed work atmosphere, you can start at 9am and finish at 4pm with 1-1.5 hours lunch.

Cons

Senior management tries to concentrate all decisions on their own. Not only strategic ones but also such small things like: where some checkbox should be drawn on screen. CTO knows only buzzwords but wants to be involved into any technical discussions. He won't be able to explain you the difference between Presto and Spark or Mesos and YARN but he makes decision what to use without any debates just based of his the latest impression during some conference. Because of unprofessionalism in senior management previous year Zoomdata lost almost all their key-developers and engineers turnover in 2016 was near 45%. The only engineering culture which works in Zoomdata is "I don't care".
