New leadership stated company was being transparent. However, after several months of being told the company was meeting expected numbers, we were suddenly told we were not and much of the staff was laid off at the same time. Essentially, we were lied to. I do not see the company making it through this year.

Company has gone through a few tumultuous years recently, including layoffs and "restructuring." There's a sense that management doesn't know where the company is headed. Old products aren't selling well, but there aren't many good ideas for new products. Management is often not forthcoming about the state of the company, and employees live in a constant state of fear that their position will be eliminated. The "professional" atmosphere is also a bit stifling; HR encourages people to talk only about innocuous topics (e.g., the weather) to avoid conflict. The result is that many people keep to themselves and don't talk to each other.
