Pros

Some projects in Engineering are interesting and you could learn a lot Benefits package is very competitive

Cons

Culture in engineering has taken a dive over the past 2 years Used to be somewhere which championed ownership and quality engineering, has morphed into a place where no one has any motivation to work Action is not taken against blatant slacking/lying/not turning up to work, hugely frustrating to those engineers who care/used to care about the projects The above has caused attrition of engineers with larger tenures as the struggle to make any positive change is blocked in every way possible until people quit to conserve their sanity

We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your feedback on your experience in Engineering in our Belfast office. It is disheartening to hear that your experience in recent years has not lived up to the expectations that you have, and to the standards that iManage upholds as well. It seems that your sentiment on employee motivation is an isolated issue, and we are actively taking steps to determine any root causes and how we can better support these teams so that this type of culture does not permeate and affect others in the way that you described. You are absolutely right, the culture at iManage is everyone's responsibility and bringing this to our attention is part of that. While PeopleOps works to remedy this issue, we also encourage you to talk to your manager and/or your functional leader about what you are noticing so that the Belfast engineering teams can continue to improve, culturally and technically. Thank you again for your honest feedback and if you are still experiencing the same struggles aforementioned, please do not hesitate to contact PeopleOps for further support and guidance.

Pros

- Generous product roadmaps well into the next few years - Very generous employee benefits

Cons

- Since the introduction of engineering management, a lot of key staff (> 4 years' tenure) have left the company. - Culture of underworking is building, this is demotivating for hard-working staff. - With the introduction of hybrid working (and visitors from other remote locations outside NI), the location of the office is an increasing problem for socialising with our travelling colleagues (lunch, drinks, even travelling to the office in the morning)

Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback on your time as a Software Engineer in Belfast. We are happy to hear that you have found alignment with our product roadmaps and are being support by our competitive benefits offerings. While it's difficult to hear, we appreciate your honesty regarding what you've experienced culturally. Although this does not exemplify the values and expectations that iManage has regarding our employee culture, we are determined to explore this issue deeper and find a solution. Regarding your comment on our iThrive career framework, we would encourage you to talk one on one with your manager and/or your functional leader about your expectations, your motivations and your goals for career development. The iThrive career framework was created as a guide to allow employees and managers to have candid conversations about the competencies in your particular function as well as development opportunities for your growth. Thank you again for bringing these sentiments to our attention.

Pros

- The People Ops team in London are a really great group of people and genuinely want to try make a difference. It's incredibly difficult with what's available to them, but I commend them for the amount of work they put in to try make this place better. - The London office is quite cool in terms of the design and space available.

Cons

- There is zero company culture. The People team do try to put on events and special weeks, talks, drinks, lunches etc in the company so it's not a lack of availability, but rather a lack of interest from many employees to get involved. - A lot have been there for years and have their own little cliques, and make very little effort to welcome new people. This behaviour then rubs off on others. - Managers do not make any effort to try get teams to gel and bond, and certainly don't encourage them to take part in anything that involves leaving the desk. It's really disheartening to see the effort some people put in to try and get the team to feel more like a team, and then people just ignoring it, refusing to take part, feeling like they're not allowed etc. - Very much an old boy's club, complete with misogynistic comments (and I heard a fair few) and a lack of respect for others. - The tech is dull to work on and gives very little sense of achievement. You're working on a big, expensive product sold to big, rich companies. You're not doing anything particularly worthwhile, and I have heard a manager talk in an all hands about how ideally this software will help these big, rich companies cut lots of paralegal jobs and save money. The salaries here don't justify the soulless work and it's not anything particularly innovative or exciting to work on either. If you have the skills to work in tech, use them to go work on something more valuable. There are some really talented, friendly, intelligent people in this company with bags of potential but unfortunately the toxic, suffocating atmosphere in iManage doesn't help them shine.
