Pros
1. Learned how to identify red flags that suggest negative company culture. 2. Learned to take the red flags seriously enough so I could start job searching sooner.
Cons
Poor leadership, ineffectual communication, and total lack of respect best describe pVelocity's corporate culture. Here are a few examples of how the management leads its team: 1. Uses intimidation and implied threats as primary means to "motivate" employees. 2. Does not communicate clear expectations, then criticizes employees for not meeting them. 3. Bombards employees with endless questions and then dismisses answers, yet they don't answer anything themselves. 4. Criticizes employees harshly for every little thing, AND in a way that makes them look weak. 5. Covers up their own faults by shifting blames to employees. 6. Lying or manipulative. Tells employees how they are doing a good job in one minute then rebukes them later for doing the same thing. 7. Makes false promises of support and help. 8. Does not recognize or appreciate employees' hard work and contributions. The worst thing is that even senior staff members behave like the management. If you don't agree with their culture, then you won't last long in this company. pVelocity is not a healthy organization and I regret not quitting soon enough. I am now being employed by a much better organization. Great managers and coworkers, supportive and professional environment, employees are recognized and appreciated for their hard work, and much more. I can't be happier.
