Pros

Pay is competitive Individual team members are good Beer Fridays Lunch every other week

Cons

No leadership No CEO No planning Last minute major changes with no thought to long term implications No product knowledge No idea how to manage resources All responsibility is pushed from top to bottom until bottom ends up doing 12+hr shifts for weeks to get stuff done while top applauds themselves for a job well done Majority of people are not interested in trying to learn how things work, instead they do stuff assuming things work a certain way and are shocked when it doesn't and still expect things to get done tomorrow They call hackers "researchers" to avoid the stigma Stakeholders think that documenting what their new feature is supposed to do is duplication of work and not their job because the details are somewhat loosely strung together in Jira comments, verbal meetings and emails on the side so creating and maintaining an internal product manual is a waste of time. HR exists to hire and fire and protect the leadership; if you have a problem with the leadership team is seems to fall on deaf ears and your made to seem like your feels are not valid, they will however do their job properly if complaints are among the commoners and don't reflect poorly on the management

Pros

- Free Company Branded Fidget Spinners - Easy Access to TTC - Beer Friday - Bi-Weekly Lunches, - Weekly Bagels For Breakfast - Unlimited Coffee (what tech company doesn't?) - Good pay and benefits package

Cons

- Extremely high employee turnover and frequent waves of terminations - Spaghetti code, everywhere - Product that makes money off of people cheating on their significant others - Shady "Dark Patterns" in the product to trick people into spending money - Outdated workstation computers - Incredibly loud, open work environment, and very few quiet areas or times - You will get caught in the crossfire of a nerf-gun at any given moment - Constant interruption, and you are encouraged to interrupt people while they are working to get them do things for you - Disorganized communication structures where people aren't aware of decisions being made - CEO doesn't care about the quality of the product, just a constant push to release anything and everything no matter the quality - just to make money - Management often reorganizes the entire technology department, resulting in delays - A project may be given to you with an arbitrary, short timeline that has no basis in reality - and then you'll be blamed for not delivering on time. - Lack of innovation in technology, very little individual autonomy - Barely any room for career advancement - Takes forever to get access to anything you need to do your job - Bloated corporate structure that badly tries to act like a startup. - If you express any concerns about company culture, it is very likely you will be fired in the next wave - Scrum masters that try to micromanage you - Free Company Branded Fidget Spinners
