Pros

Some snacks throughout the day Relatively flexible working hours Ability to free roam on ideas and implement them - the only real good thing to come out of this company.

Cons

The company expect employees to arrive before 10.30am and not leave before 4pm yet apart from upper management everybody else is not technically an employee but instead a contractor - this is a serious gray area to expect this of employees and something the IRS may be interested to know more about. Their business model is a scam. They charge a subscription that only mentioned in the very fine print it's recurring - they know full well the pain and suffering they put on people who can't get their money back. I've known customers find out over 2 years later they've paid a monthly charge only for Taroko Software to fight to the bitter end any sort of refund. The business model steals from the already disadvantaged - those who need a resume usually due to difficult personal circumstances. Their business model is so bad they have a dedicated night team that deals solely with customer complaints with the aim of keeping the customer chargebacks low so they can hold onto their already dodgy payment processing company. Did I mention, many payment processing companies have refused to work with Taroko Software? The company culture is the worst I've ever experienced.. The upper management are secretive and also treat women particularly badly. They say sexist comments and think they can get away with it - and due to the subdued - almost depressive atmosphere of the office, they do. The management team as a whole lack commercial awareness, fortitude and the ability to lead with respect. Don't expect any sort of bonus either. If they say you can have a share of the companies profits, take it with a pinch of salt, they won't pay you a dime. There isn't much in the way of climbing the ladder, you're either a work horse in a monotonous role or you're the next step up as a manager which is just the same role with a more glorified title. Upper management are 3 guys in their clique, not to be trusted. Let me repeat - Not. To. Be. Trusted.

Pros

Nice office Some snacks and coffee in the pantry

Cons

Blind leading the blind Management is not trustworthy and oversells the benefits, like profit-sharing... its not a lot of money at all and its very very rare that anyone gets it High turnover rate because management treats employees so terribly The work is boring and monotonous, usually we just clone the competitors

Pros

-First few days or weeks, it'll feel like a dream job. That's when you realise it's all an illusion. -Somewhat flexible culture. -Nice people. -Office furniture is acceptable. -Great place to work if you plan to retire from your professional career soon. -Instead of rewards, incentives, and bonuses, you do get some granola bars and dried wheat crackers. -Breakfast on Mondays.

Cons

-No benefits, No bonuses, No raises. -If you are a talented professional, do NOT work here. You are a valuable human being who does not deserve to work in a place that does not treat and compensate its employees right. Please don't get me started on their business model. -There is NO career growth or development. -Turnover rate is higher than average. Yes, I calculated. More than 10 people left within 5 months, which was like more than 25% of the company size at the time. Most recently, nearly HALF of the team left a particular department within a month. -Employees from various departments complain about their salary/pay cuts/no raises. -Work is menial and not intellectually stimulating. Don't forget there is no career growth. -Your hard work will NOT be recognized or rewarded. Remember, there are NO performance-based bonuses and incentives. Myths debunked in the job description: -Macbook air / laptop is not yours to keep. It is company property. -"Learning & Development Opportunities" = Learning how to develop a strong mental and emotional endurance for your work -"Wellness" program is UP TO 1000NT max/month ($30USD max) for your fitness membership (so if your membership costs $1000NT, they give you $500, no more). How generous. Also, if you bike to work, it'll cost you money out of that 1000NT just to park in the lot of the building.
