Our chairman Alastair Storey has been appointed to the government’s new hospitality council, to aid the recovery of our sector following the pandemic. The council will support the delivery of the government’s hospitality strategy, identifying and overseeing actions related to its 22 commitments. Initiatives include bringing businesses together with universities to boost innovation, using Plan for Jobs programmes such as Kickstart to help with recruitment and reducing the industry’s waste and plastic consumption. Co-chaired by business minister Paul Scully and Prezzo chair Karen Jones, the first meeting of the council takes place today.
