We had the pleasure of celebrating two of our longest serving staff members here at CODE. Vikki, who has worked here for 15 years, and Tina, who has worked here for 10 years, have both seen and played an integral part in the growth and development of CODE to where it is now. Hitting your 10/15 year milestone at work is an amazing achievement and shows real dedication to your work. To celebrate Vikki's incredible 15 year anniversary with CODE, we are gifting her a week's first class holiday anywhere in the world! We are delighted to announce that Danielle, our Assistant Accommodation Manager, won the ResLife Hero of the Year award at the ASRA Association for Student Residential Accommodation Awards 2024! The awards celebrate people who have gone above and beyond to make a difference to students and colleagues' lives. Danielle was nominated for stepping out of her comfort zone when helping others and her ongoing dedication and unfaltering student support. When speaking to Danielle about her award, this is what she had to say: "I am thrilled and honored to accept this award. Being nominated was already such a privilege, and winning is beyond words. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to CODE for putting me forward and to the ASRA Awards for selecting me as the winner. As a Customer Sales Executive and native Mandarin speaker, Jieying plays a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless experience for our Chinese students at CODE Fairfax Street, Coventry. Whether it's assisting at events like our Lunar New Year celebration or resolving concerns, Jieying's dedication to delivering outstanding customer service shines through in every interaction. Jieying's charisma and warm communication are key to our strong ties with international students. At CODE, we've been expanding our team, increasing the numbers of both our customer-facing and head-office staff. In the next few weeks, we'll be welcoming a new Marketing Manager, bringing fresh ideas to elevate our brand. While our Coventry site will see four new Customer and Sales Executives come on board, all ready to enhance customer and resident engagement. A new Customer and Sales Executive is also set to be introduced to CODE Leicester as we make sure our staff helps us deliver exceptional service and amenities. This team expansion plays a crucial role in achieving our objectives. We're excited about the journey ahead, as each new addition to the CODE team contributes to our collective success and joins our already amazing workforce. At CODE Student Accommodation, we're committed to supporting local causes and promoting sustainability... which is why we're so excited that our Pre-loved Clothing Sale this week raised an incredible £5,932.50 for Women's Aid Leicestershire, an organization that plays a crucial role in supporting and empowering survivors of domestic abuse. Students, staff, and members of the public united across our sites in Coventry and Leicester to raise funds, and help change lives while also updating their wardrobes! Individuals even went above and beyond their initial purchases, with one member of the public stating, "My receipt only came to £20, but I wanted to give more, so I decided to make it up to £50. CODE is doing such a great job, and the staff were amazing at this event." We're also glad the impacts of the sale will resonate long into the future, not just with the charity, but with so many "fast fashion" items finding new homes and avoiding landfill. We're extremely grateful to our community at CODE Leicester and CODE Fairfax Street for making this Charity Clothes Sale an outstanding success.
Last Saturday night, we came together to celebrate the achievements over the last year and embrace the festive cheer at our annual Christmas party, and what a night it was! From the delicious Indian cuisine courtesy of Chutney Ivy to the lively atmosphere, it was an evening filled with laughter, joy, and fantastic company with all of the CODE Student Accommodation and Leicester Lettings team. It was great to see everyone letting their hair down, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories. The dance floor was alive with energy as we danced the night away, celebrating the successes of the past year and looking forward to the exciting opportunities that 2024 holds.
