Lee Townsend, Etex Bristol, UK I joined Etex in 2014 as an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Officer at the Bristol Office. My job was to give EHS support to Head Office and external sales. In 2015, I was transferred to the Bristol plant to support EHS improvements. Over the next few years, I rose to become EHS Advisor and eventually EHS Manager, and I recruited a small team to work with me. We were able to improve the safety standards at the Bristol plant over the years, thanks to the direct support from and action of all the managers and Teammates there. I now have a Business Unit EHS role and feel privileged to have a great team working for me, all of whom work continually to make Etex safer, healthier and more environmentally friendly. We've made progress in all areas. For instance, since 2018, our use of recycled gypsum has increased by 54%, making us Europe's top gypsum recycler, including the UK.
