The UK’s premier parcel delivery company, the Evri Group, has announced the launch of a new apprenticeship scheme designed to strengthen data and artificial intelligence (AI) skills across its workforce. Having started in February, the scheme offers colleagues the opportunity to join one of four dedicated pilot programmes, with successful candidates joining the Evri Group’s AI or Data Academy. And launched in partnership with leading education technology provider Multiverse, the two academies, which offer both level 3 and level 4 courses, are aimed at colleagues who don’t currently work in AI and data, but who want to build practical, career-enhancing skills in these fast-growing areas. The programmes will support over 90 colleagues from various departments across the business in gaining hands-on skills through a series of modules, workshops and real business projects, culminating in a final assessment. Those who successfully complete the course will achieve a recognised apprenticeship L3 or L4 qualification in their chosen specialism, equipping them with new skills and knowledge in these areas to apply within their current role. The launch of the new academies builds on the Evri Group’s strong commitment to colleague learning and development, with the business already offering apprenticeship programmes in areas such as Leadership & Management, Transport, Sales and finance, and in 2025 alone, over 120 colleagues received support to upskill through these schemes.
Evri Group boosts growth with over 3700 new community courier, warehouse, driver and head office roles Evri Group is announcing plans to create over 3700 new opportunities with a particular focus in operations on courier roles at the heart of local communities to drive up delivery quality. The announcement follows operational investment of £36 million last year as the business bolstered its operations and service to support parcel volume growth. This latest investment builds on Evri’s commitment to delivering industry leading service, with close to 4 million 5* Trustpilot reviews and an average courier star rating of 4.7/5, while underpinning its rapid growth following its merger with DHL eCommerce UK. In the last week alone independent data from Parcel2Go found that for UK deliveries, Evri Drop-Off recorded the highest on-time delivery rate in 2025 of all carriers. The same report also ranked Evri Drop-Off as having one of the highest rankings (top 3) for customer satisfaction for International deliveries at 4.54 out of 5. Evri’s focus on bringing in 3700 new workers including community couriers supports its commitment to further driving service quality as data highlights higher customer satisfaction rates towards couriers that deliver regular rounds and know their communities well. Evri Driving Academy opens its doors to external candidates. For the first time, members of the public can apply to train as HGV drivers through Evri’s Driving Academy. The Academy has supported internal driver progression for many years, including 113 HGV licences achieved in 2025 alone, and is expanding at a time of ongoing national HGV driver shortages. The programme provides Category C and C+E training, offering a new route into a high-demand career in logistics. Evri, the UK’s premier parcel delivery company, is now accepting applications from external candidates for its heavy goods vehicles (HGV) licence training programme. Evri’s Driving Academy, which has supported internal driver progression for many years, helped drivers achieve 113 new HGV licences in 2025 alone and is now opening the scheme to outside applicants at a time when the UK faces a critical shortage of HGV drivers. The Road Haulage Association estimates the country needs 60,000 new drivers each year for the next five years to meet growing demand. As the industry looks to attract a broader and more diverse workforce, programmes like this are creating new opportunities for women and younger people to build careers in logistics – one of the UK’s most in-demand sectors.
