Yesterday our teams were at the White Label World Expo Series in London discussing all things Fulfilment and International! Our teams were able to share their expertise with those attending the event and were able to attract many leads across the day. We continue to support fantastic causes and we recently sent hundreds of household goods including food, pet supplies and cleaning products over to Emmaus Salford! We’re pleased to be able to provide for those that need it most and help Emmaus with their goal of ending homelessness. 💚💙
Our Driving Academy gives our employees the chance to progress their careers and our teams have been busy assisting employees in their development. 115 people were trained last year as part of our CAT C and CAT CE apprenticeships and employees such as Austin Lawrence, a CAT C driver and Hayley Stocks, a CAT CE driver were promoted through the Academy. As part of National Apprenticeship Week we recently spoke to them both about their careers and what the apprenticeship has done for them.
Our out of home network helps reduce carbon emissions and continues to expand as we’ve just invested in our new locker service, partnering with Quadient’s smart locker network. It’s the festive season and that is also a time for giving and sharing with others less fortunate than us. Richard Dempsey from our HR team organised a big donation for our local Leeds South and East Foodbank! We donated 120kg of food which is around 285 meals that will go to those that need it most this Christmas. This is an ongoing initiative and people can donate at our head office in Morley. Well done Richard and all involved, keep up the great work! ❤️💙
ESG is at the heart of our business so we’re proud to announce we’ve won the ‘Environmental Best Practice’ at the Green Apple Environmental Awards! The past 18 months have seen us commit to being net-zero by 2035, develop a fleet with the lowest carbon emissions of any dedicated parcel delivery company in the UK, achieve 100% renewable electricity in our operations and deliver our first ever ESG report. To receive our award, our Head of ESG Nancy Hobhouse went to the House of Commons, Palace of Westminster in London. 🏆🌎
We’re delighted to announce that we’ve teamed up with the Post Office to trial offering our ParcelShop services within their stores. We plan to have 50 stores launched before Christmas, this will provide customers an even more convenient way to send, return and collect parcels. Our CEO Martijn De Lange said: “These new locations will complement our existing nationwide network of 10,000+ locations and give Post Office customers a new fast, reliable and cost-effective way to send and receive their parcels. We're so pleased to have won the ‘Step Change Award’ for the third time for our SE+ couriers pension and paternity pay scheme at this years Institute of Couriers Awards. We'd also like to say a big congratulations to our courier Matt Garraway who was given a silver award as recognition for delivering parcels on foot when roads were closed during the G7 summit!
